  • Publication number: 20110310616
Abstract: A luminaire includes a planar light guide having a substrate with a back surface, a light emitting surface, and an edge therebetween with a light source disposed at the edge for emitting light thereinto. A geometric structure on the light guide provides for directing light entering the light guide edge outwardly from the light-emitting surface. The luminaire may be utilized for retrofitting of existing canned lighting or in flush mount applications.

  • Publication number: 20070165413
Abstract: A low profile lighting system and method for illuminating objects for enhanced visual perception and for providing an energy-efficient and effective lighting system. The low profile lighting system comprises a first housing unit for housing an electronic unit, a second housing unit for housing at least one light source unit and at least one voltage supplier. The electronic unit, the light source unit(s), and the voltage supplier(s) are all electrically connected. The light source unit further comprises a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) connected in series to form different configurations. Additionally, the intensity, luminosity, and brightness of the light output from the light source unit is adjustable between a predetermined maximum and minimum value for producing safe light over an object.

  • Publication number: 20050047898
Abstract: A linkage support system and method for mounting and supporting a linkage on a work vehicle. The linkage support system includes a load bearing support and a removable linkage pin support rigidly attached to the load bearing support. The work vehicle is, typically, an earthmoving vehicle which includes a frame, a work tool such as a bucket, and a linkage for manipulating the work tool. The load bearing support may be a portion of the frame of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6154366
Abstract: A chip-on-flex package which includes at least one moisture barrier layer to prevent metal corrosion and delamination of flex component layers. An exemplary microelectronic package includes a microelectronic die having an active surface and at least one side, wherein the microelectronic die active surface includes at least one contact. A flex component is attached by a first surface to the microelectronic die active surface. At least one conductive trace is disposed on a second surface of the flex component and extends through the flex component to contact at least one of the contacts. An encapsulation material is adjacent the microelectronic die side and a bottom surface of the flex component. A moisture barrier is disposed on the flex component and the conductive trace(s). A second moisture barrier may be disposed on the encapsulation material. A heat dissipation device may also be incorporated into the chip-on-flex package.

  • Patent number: 4768415
Abstract: A tremolo bridge for an electric guitar has a fine tuning mechanism installed thereon. Fine tuning screw heads 43 have coplanar top surfaces 44 which do not rise or fall as tuning is effected. When actuated, heads 43 move screws 47 vertically to act on strings 29 through string securing levers 35. With this structure, the tuning heads form an essentially flat surface providing a seat or rest for the hand or forearm of the guitarist.

  • Patent number: 4677891
Abstract: A tremolo plate is pivotally mounted on the guitar body, and a plurality of a combination bridge saddles and lever systems are mounted on such plate, there being one such saddle-lever system for each string of the guitar. The combination systems include saddles adapted to be pivoted by set screws to change string height. They further include levers adapted to be adjusted by screws to effect fine tuning of the strings. The heads for the fine tuning screws are captured by ears. The pivot means for the tremolo plate have a pivot axis so related to the string saddles that the intonation points of the saddles may be adjusted between positions closer to the guitar neck than is such axis, and positions farther from the guitar neck than is such axis.

  • Patent number: 4241936
Abstract: A trailer coupling part which comprises a housing with a ball entry opening in the housing through which in use a towing ball is entered into the housing to complete the trailer coupling. A lever, provided with a handle, is pivotal in the housing between open and closed positions. A tongue, complementary contoured to the shape of the towing ball, is pivotal on the lever. When the towing ball is in position within the housing and the lever is in its closed position, the tongue contacts the towing ball to retain the latter in position within the housing. In the absence of a towing ball within the housing, and with the lever in an open position, the tongue automatically pivots through the ball entry opening in the housing. Moving the lever to the closed position causes the tongue to take up a position closing the ball entry opening.
