  • Patent number: 11134000
Abstract: The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems and computer media for monitoring communications networks using cross-correlation of packet flows. One method for monitoring a communications network using cross-correlation of packet flows includes receiving a plurality of packets copied from a communications network. The method further includes classifying the packets into flows. The method further includes, for at least one of the flows, generating a trace value sequence, where the trace value sequence is sequence of values that characterizes the flow according to a cross-correlation metric. The method further includes performing a frequency domain cross-correlation for the at least one flow using the trace value sequence. The method further includes outputting an indication of a network or flow characteristic based on results of the cross-correlation.

  • Patent number: 10597298
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for emulsion templating hollow silica-based particles. The particles are suitable for containing one or more active ingredients or for containing other smaller particles which may include one or more active ingredients. The emulsion templated particles can be formed from two or more silanes. The emulsion templated particles can also be formed from a silane and a compound that attaches a polymer on the shell of the hollow silica-based particles.

  • Patent number: 10513064
Abstract: An injection-molding process and an apparatus for making a multi-component hollow article, and the article made thereby. The process comprises molding, from a first plastic material, a hollow body having a wall with at least one vent therethrough and at least one flap molded in an area adjacent to the vent. The flap is molded in a first position in which the vent is open. The flap is hingedly movable from the first position to a second position in which the vent is closed by the flap. After the flap is folded into the second position, the hollow body, including the folded flap, is at least partially overmolded with a second plastic material, wherein the second material is essentially precluded from leaking into the hollow body through the vent. The apparatus comprises a first mold bar for molding a hollow body, a second mold bar for overmolding the hollow body with a second plastic material, and a closing tool for moving, and optionally retaining, the flap in the second position.

  • Patent number: 10149582
Abstract: An automated toilet seat actuator includes a housing, a water-level detection mechanism located exterior of the housing and configured to learn when a real-time water level in the existing toilet tank fluctuates below and above a predetermined minimum threshold water level. An actuation mechanism is in communication with the water-level detection mechanism and the existing toilet seat. A processor is in communication with the actuation mechanism and the water-level detection mechanism. A memory is in communication with the processor and includes software instructions which operably bias the actuation mechanism between a retracted position and an extended position upon learning that the real-time water level has dropped below the predetermined minimum threshold water level.

  • Patent number: 9792842
Abstract: A post flag system includes a mounting tube and a flag. The mounting tube has a post section and a mounting section separated by a bend. The post section of the mounting tube goes over the upper end of a vertical post. The post section has an annular cross section of constant inner diameter greater than the outer dimension of the post to receive the upper end of the vertical post. The bend orients the mounting section at a mounting tube angle with respect to the post section. The flag has a surface displaying indicia and an edge coupled to the mounting section of the mounting tube. The mounting tube angle is preferably in the range of 90 to 100 degrees. A method of assembling a post flag system is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9707968
Abstract: One exemplary embodiment is a method of controlling a vehicle system including an engine, a transmission, and a control system in operative communication with and structured to control operation of the engine and the transmission. The method determines an operating point of the engine including an engine torque and an engine speed and evaluates a relationship between the operating point and a soft limit on engine torque. The method modifies the soft limit to permit operation outside a boundary of the un-modified soft limit. Modification of the soft limit is constrained by a non-adjustable limit. The operating point of the engine is adjusted to increase engine torque above the boundary of the un-modified soft limit. The method may mitigate a vehicle speed lug event and/or avoid a transmission shift event.
