  • Patent number: 8646586
Abstract: A clutch brake is provided for mounting on a rotatable shaft comprising an outer annular housing and an inner annular collar. The inner collar is mounted within the housing and is secured to the rotatable shaft so as to be rotatable with the shaft and capable of rotation relative to the housing. One or more pads are interposed between the housing and the collar and is biased to provide frictional engagement between the two. Preferably both the outer housing and collar comprise a pair of arcuate semi-annular members to facilitate installation and removal.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20060000686
Abstract: An adjusting mechanism to compensate for clutch disc wear is located in the lever linkage of the clutch, fixed to the cover. Rotational movement axially moves an adjusting ring, thus performing the adjustment. In a first embodiment, the locking member is pushed down to release the bolt head for the adjusting mechanism to allow it to be rotated. In a second embodiment, the locking member is pushed down to release the locking member, which also engages the bolt head for the adjusting mechanism, to permit rotation of the locking member and, consequently, adjustment of the clutch. In a third embodiment, the locking member is attached by means of a fastener to the bolt head and is removed to permit adjustment.

  • Patent number: 6450310
Abstract: A clutch brake for a heavy duty automotive clutch. The clutch brake consists of two semiannular halves each having first and second ends. Each half has one tab disposed inwardly which is adapted to connect with the keyways in the input shaft of the transmission. The two halves are pivotally connected at one end prior to installation. The second ends of the two halves are shaped such that they interlock, forming an annular assembly about the shaft.
