  • Publication number: 20240050794
Abstract: Systems and methods for adjusting resistance on an exercise apparatus include a first resistance apparatus having an adjusting bracket, magnetic members mounted on an inner surface of the adjusting bracket, a stepper motor having an adjusting shaft and operable to traverse a portion of the length of the adjusting shaft. At a first position, the magnetic members are disposed above a flywheel, and in a second position, the magnetic members are disposed on opposite sides of the flywheel, providing resistance thereto. A load cell couples the adjusting bracket to the frame and generates a signal corresponding to the movement of the adjusting bracket. A computing system calculates resistance, rpms, power from load cell signal, stepper motor position, shaft rotational position and other sensor inputs.

  • Patent number: 8179535
Abstract: An acoustic field in a body of water is monitored using a coherent light field emitter applying a distributed light field across the surface of the water to be reflected, and a sensor is used to sense reflected components of the light field above the surface and to provide a signal representing information in the reflected light and related to movements in the water and caused by the acoustic field. The signal is provided from an interferometry technique and useable to derive information on the underwater acoustic field in a useful form.

  • Patent number: 8139488
Abstract: Disclosed are, inter alia, methods, apparatus, computer-storage media, mechanisms, and means associated with cooperative flow locks distributed among multiple components, such as on different application-specific integrated circuits in a packet switching device. Flow locks are typically used for maintaining the order of packets and operations performed thereon by the coordination of a context (e.g., the processing of a packet by a packet processor) with a corresponding flow lock interface, and by the manner of communication performed among the flow lock interface and the distributed flow locks.

  • Patent number: 7643375
Abstract: A seismic data acquisition system includes a connector housing and a mating electrical circuitry module. A single interface couples electrical circuitry housed in the electrical circuitry module to one or more signal data carriers that are consolidated at a single location in the connector housing. Preferably, the connector housing and electrical circuitry module each have a substantially contaminant-free interior regardless of whether these two parts are mated. An alternate connector housing has two plug casings, each of which are provided with a plug. A complementary alternate electrical circuitry module includes two receptacles complementary to the plugs and an interior space for holding the electrical circuitry. A locking pin disposed within the plug casing selectively engages the electrical circuitry module.
