Abstract: A walking staff apparatus having a tripod assembly that is releasably fastened to a main shaft. The tripod assembly may be released from the shaft to achieve a compact arrangement for transport or storage. The shaft may also be telescoping to achieve a compact size. The release joint may include a mechanism for centering the shaft and tripod assembly. A magnetic-based mechanism for releasable attachment of an article may be coupled to the shaft. The magnetic-based attachment mechanism may include an anti-rotation device to achieve secure positioning of an article releasable attached to the shaft.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for the magnetic-based, releasable and position adjustable attachment of an article to a support. The device is well suited for use with cameras, spotting scopes, navigational devices, distance finders, sensors, lights and other devices, but is not limited to use with these fields. The apparatus and method may include releasable mechanical mounting and/or reinforcement of the magnetic-based mounting. Anti-rotation of a mounted ancillary article is also disclosed, as is adjustable positioning.

Abstract: A camera or other items positioning device including a relatively hard endoskeleton substantially covered by a softer corpulent body. A mount region is coupled to the endoskeleton and configured to permit the releasable attachment of a camera or other device. The attachment mechanism may be mechanically or magnetically based, or both. The soft body permits the devices to be readily grasped by a user and to wrap securely about mounting structures of different size and shape. Several embodiments, including tripod, extra leg and monopod embodiments, are disclosed.

Abstract: A staff apparatus having a leg assembly with multiple movable legs. In one embodiment, the leg assembly includes three legs to form a tripod. The staff apparatus may include an adaptable magnetic-based mount for releasably attaching a camera, spotting scope, gun or arm rest, or other item. The mount may be movable or non-movable. A shaft may include multiple telescoping sections, and an upper section may telescope into a lower section. Various embodiments and features of the staff apparatus are disclosed.
