  • Patent number: 8342902
Abstract: A deer call includes a cylindrical mouthpiece in which a reed assembly is mounted for oscillatory movement creating a sound replicating that of a deer and a sound attenuating tube secured to the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece is composed of a rigid tubular member and an elastic skin secured about the tubular member. The rigid tubular member includes a central cut-out section exposing the elastic skin to an interior of the mouthpiece thereby defining the elastic skin resonance control surface, wherein the elastic skin in the area of the elastic skin resonance control surface includes a sound control aperture allowing the user to control air pressure within the mouthpiece and thereby control amplitude of sound generated by the deer call.

  • Patent number: 6773129
Abstract: A vehicle interior component and lighting assembly that includes a vehicle interior component having a fabric disposed over a substrate or foam layer, or both. An electroluminescent panel is located between the fabric and substrate/foam layer and directs light from the panel through the fabric. In this way, the light source can be effectively hidden when not in use and can be incorporated into the interior component in a manner that requires little space. The vehicle interior component can be any of a number of different interior articles, including, for example, a headliner, door panel, vehicle seat, rear deck, sun visor, and trunk panel. Also disclosed are vehicle interior illumination systems using touch switches and electroluminescent panels to provide back lighting of the switch and/or vehicle interior illumination through the switch.

  • Patent number: 6773151
Abstract: An automobile dome lamp assembly which includes a metal reflector unit, plastic lamp housing, cartridge lamp, and cover lens. The reflector unit comprises two concave reflector portions that are mounted on the plastic base in electrical isolation from each other. Each of the two reflector portions include a unitary electrical terminal and lamp retainer clip. The cartridge lamp is mounted to the reflector unit by the two retainer clips such that it is located in front of the reflector. Power supplied to the electrical terminals is routed to the lamp through the reflector portion and their unitary retainer clips. The reflector unit is stamped from a single pieces of metal frangible bridges interconnecting the two reflector portions. The reflector unit can be insert molded to the plastic housing and the frangible bridges are separate at that time to electrically isolate the two reflector portions.

  • Patent number: 6685325
Abstract: A side vehicle mirror assembly (30) that utilizes a waveguide (42) to route light from a location at the vehicle/mirror assembly interface to an outboard location (46) on the mirror assembly. The side mirror assembly (30) includes the waveguide (42), a mounting member (32), and a mirror (34) attached to the mounting member. The waveguide (42) extends from a first location at the vehicle/mirror assembly interface to a second location at the mirror. A lamp (44) located either in The door panel (38) or at the first location is used to provide light into the waveguide, which then routes the light to the outboard (46) location for exterior illumination or signal lighting. A stacked waveguide arrangement can be used so that these multiple lighting functions can be incorporated together into the mirror assembly. Also disclosed is an optical coupling arrangement for routing light to a breakaway side mirror.
