  • Patent number: 11942902
Abstract: Methods related to power amplification systems with adjustable common base bias. A method of implementing a power amplification system can include providing a cascode amplifier coupled to a radio-frequency input signal and coupled to a radio-frequency output. The method can further include providing a biasing component configured to apply one or more biasing signals to the cascode amplifier, the biasing component including a bias controller and one or more bias components. Each respective bias component may be coupled to a respective bias transistor.

  • Publication number: 20050151082
Abstract: An infrared spectrometer includes an infrared source system that is stabilized to provide a substantially constant output light intensity. The infrared source system includes a source element adapted to receive electrical power and to emit light at an intensity related to the electrical power received by the source element. A light detector is mounted in position to receive light emitted from the source element and to provide an output signal related to the intensity of the light received by the detector. A feedback control loop receives the signal from the detector and provides electrical power to the source element to maintain the intensity of the light output from the source element at a selected level as detected by the detector.

  • Patent number: 5912642
Abstract: Desired positioning of a sensor, such as an antenna, is provided. The system includes a platform which can be a vehicle, such as an aircraft. The sensor is connected to the platform by means of a mount. Alignment data is obtained in order to compensate for any difference in reference coordinate systems between the platform and the mount when the platform is in a first position. The alignment data can be obtained by incremental scanning of the sensor relative to an object that transmits a signal to the sensor. The strengths or amplitudes of the signals at the incremental positions can be utilized in calculating or arriving at the alignment data used to compensate for any misalignments between the coordinate systems of the platform and the mount. When the movable platform is in another position, the alignment data is used to desirably position the sensor.

  • Patent number: 5896197
Abstract: A bearing for allowing the movement of a movable mirror in a Michelson interferometer includes a stationary hollow glass cylinder and a movable assembly which includes the movable mirror and at least one graphite member, the graphite member being slidably disposed within the bore of the glass cylinder. Preferably, there is an anti-rotation system for the movable assembly which includes a post coupled with the movable assembly, a magnet mounted on one end of the post and a stationary guide rail positioned substantially parallel to the axis of rotation of the movable assembly and at a predetermined radial distance from the movable assembly.
