Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for detecting cannabinoids in liquid or gaseous samples. In one aspect, the present invention uses a sensor element and two electrical circuit elements. When the sensor element is in contact with a sample containing cannabinoid, interactions between the sensor element and the cannabinoid changes or affects the sensor element's electrochemical properties. Using the two electrical circuit elements, this change can be detected. An analog signal relating to the changed electrochemical properties can be measured using the two electrical circuit elements. In one implementation, there is provided an organic field effect transistor (OFET) whose signal changes when in contact with a cannabinoid containing sample.

Abstract: A method and system for determining a receiver power for a required bit error rate (BER) in an optical communication systems is disclosed. A signal is transmitted using an initial transmitter power and is received at a receiver. A BER contour diagram is created by measuring high BER values and approximating low BER values from the high BER values. The optimum decision threshold and/or sampling phase is determined from the contour diagram and the BER is calculated at the optimum decision threshold and/or at the optimum sampling phase. If the calculated BER is not close to or equal to the required BER, the transmitter power is adjusted until the calculated BER is close to or equal to the required BER. The receiver power is then calculated from the transmitter power or directly measured from the received signal.

Abstract: In a server system coupled to at least one client system, a method for synchronizing a user interface (UI) presentation to be displayed to a user of the client system to a UI description maintained by the server system, the method comprising the steps of: converting the UI description into one or more UI object definitions; storing each UI object definition in a document; and, transmitting the document to the client system; the client system adapted to convert the UI object definitions to UI objects to generate the UI presentation.
