  • Patent number: 8854133
Abstract: An amplifier includes an amplifier section having selectable signal paths to provide discrete gain settings, and logic to incrementally select the signal paths. The logic may be configured to increment the gain in response to digital gain control signals or an analog gain control signal. Another amplifier has an input section with one or more input cells and an output section with one or more output cells. Either the input section or the output section includes at least two cells that may be selected to provide discrete gain settings. A loop amplifier is configured in a feedback arrangement with the input section. The input and output sections may have multiple selectable cells to provide coarse and fine gain steps. The gain of the loop amplifier may be coordinated with the gain of the input section to provide constant bandwidth operation.

  • Patent number: 8072205
Abstract: A peak-to-average measurement system includes an envelope detector to extract the modulation envelope of an input signal having a modulated carrier. The resulting baseband envelope signal is applied to a peak detector and an averaging circuit. In one embodiment, the averaging circuit includes a translinear core to generate a squared signal in response to the envelope signal and an RMS-average circuit to perform the averaging portion of an RMS function. The translinear core may also generate a replicated version of the envelope signal for the peak detector. The use of a common envelope detector for both the peak detector and averaging circuit may provide improved scaling accuracy.

  • Publication number: 20110103728
Abstract: A seal for a bearing has a first and a second circumference, and an anchor portion proximate to the first circumference. A span portion extends from the anchor portion towards the second circumference, and a lip extends from the span portion towards the second circumference. The lip protrudes from the span portion transversely to the span direction. A bearing and seal assembly includes a first ring and a second ring in rotatable engagement with the first ring. The first ring defines a groove and the second ring defines a contact surface. The seal is mounted in the groove, the span portion extending from the anchor portion towards the second ring, and the lip extending from the span portion towards the second ring, engaging the contact surface. The bearing and seal assembly may be used as a pitch bearing and/or a yaw bearing in a wind turbine.

There are one or more roller bearings mounted on the journal portion of the shank. The bearings each have an inner ring and an outer ring, and include an endmost bearing. A nut is mounted on the threaded portion of the shank to engage the endmost bearing. There is a rod end body secured to the rod end. The rod end body has a mounting portion that is configured to rest on the roller bearings and to engage the outer ring of the endmost bearing. In addition, the rod end body has a coupling portion for connecting to another device.

  • Publication number: 20070211977
Abstract: A trunnion bearing has a generally cylindrical trunnion member that defines two inner ring raceways. A mounting pin is disposed within the trunnion member and an outer ring encircles the inner ring raceways. The outer ring defines raceways that are aligned with respective inner ring raceways. There is a row of balls between each inner ring raceway and a respective outer ring raceway. A bearing is assembled by placing a mounting pin within a trunnion member. An outer ring having raceways on its interior surface is placed eccentrically around the trunnion member. Each outer ring raceway is aligned with an inner ring raceway. The eccentricity creates an insertion opening for balls. Balls are inserted between the inner ring raceways and their respective outer ring raceways via the insertion opening. The balls are distributed around the trunnion member, and the outer ring moves into concentric relation with the trunnion member.
