Patent number: 11927159Abstract: An air induction system is disclosed for an engine that comprises an air cleaner, an inlet air conduit, a Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAFS), and a secondary air induction system. The air filter encloses a filter element that removes contaminants from the air supplied to the engine. A MAFS is disposed in the inlet air conduit and measures the mass of the air flowing through the inlet air conduit to an intake manifold of the engine and provides data to an engine control module that controls the air/fuel mixture supplied to the engine. The secondary air system receives air from the air cleaner that is provided to a vehicle component and includes an inlet port located upstream from the MAFS. The secondary induction conduit draws air through a port integrated with the MAFS bore with an air pump to provide clean air to an engine component or exhaust system component.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2023Date of Patent: March 12, 2024Assignee: FORD GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES, LLCInventors: Christopher B. Patent number: 9637551Abstract: The present invention provides multi-component inhibitors of nucleic acid polymerases, methods of making, and methods of using same. One component of the multi-component inhibitor is a molecule that binds to a polymerase (i.e., a polymerase-binding molecule (PBM)), but does not thereby substantially inhibit its polymerase activity. Another component is a molecule or complex of molecules that binds to a PBM (i.e., a PBM-binding molecule). The combination of the PBM and PBM-binding molecule/complex substantially inhibits polymerase activity.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2009Date of Patent: May 2, 2017Assignee: LIFE TECHNOLOGIES CORPORATIONInventors: John D. Bishop, Jun E. Lee

Patent number: 6108981Abstract: A surface mounted counter flashing system and method is provided for securing and sealing a free end of a roofing material to a wall. A compression plate secures and compressingly seals the free end of a roofing material against the wall surface. The top end of the compression plate defines a first sealing trough for receiving a sealing material. The bottom end of the compression plate includes locking portion for attachment to a counter flashing. The counter flashing includes a mounting surface which is mounted to the wall above compression plate. A covering surface extends out from the mounting surface and encloses the compression plate protecting it from exposure to weather. A locking member is provided on the covering surface which connects and attaches to the compression plate, thus, securing the counter flashing. The top end of the counter flashing defines a second sealing trough for receiving the sealing material. Adjacent counter flashings are installed end-to-end leaving a gap therebetween.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 1999Date of Patent: August 29, 2000Assignee: Tremco IncorporatedInventors: Joseph A.
