    Abstract: A method and system for identifying casting includes writers for applying unique identification indicia to the inside and outside of a molding core package. The identification indicia and at least one operating parameter associated with the molding process, such as day, time, melt temperature, melt composition, or other operating variables are tracked and recorded by a molding controller such that castings having a particular characteristic may be identified after the molding process has been completed.
