    Abstract: A swimming pool wall is constructed with a partially removable form. The form includes a removable panel for molding an inside surface of the pool wall and a continuous sheet for molding an outside surface of the wall. Sleeves are attached to an outer face of the panel for suspending the panel from partially buried stakes. A series of regularly spaced uprights support the continuous sheet. Braces carried by the uprights space the continuous sheet apart from an inner face of the panel, forming a cavity for pouring the swimming pool wall. Fasteners extend through mounting holes in the panel for removably attaching the panel to the braces.

    Abstract: A swimming pool coping that can be used for covering a top edge of curved swimming pool walls includes an integrally formed body having a hollow nose-shaped portion and a mounting seat portion. The hollow nose-shaped portion has a rounded profile with top and bottom portions that are connected by a web. A notch-shaped relief joint interrupts the bottom portion of the rounded profile in a position that contracts in response to bending of the coping body in either of two directions to match concave and convex curvatures of swimming pool walls. The rounded profile projects from the web through a distance that is decreased by the contraction of the relief joint so that the coping exhibits a similar appearance while matching either concave or convex curvatures of the pool walls.

    Abstract: A concrete in-ground swimming pool is given a resin bonded glass fiber liner that is securely bonded to the upper rim of the concrete pool wall 10 just below the coping 11. This is done with two saw cuts 15 and 16 inclined to each other to diverge with increasing depth of about 3/4" into the concrete wall below the coping so that material between the saw cuts can be cleaned out to form a dovetail shaped recess 17. A mixture of polyester resin and glass fibers fills the dovetail recess and covers over the upper pool wall and a narrow band around the upper rim of the pool in the region of the dovetail to form a bonding surface 21 locked to the recess. This is sanded smooth after the resin sets, and then the pool is lined with glass fiber mats 25 coated with polyester resin 26 that bonds to the bonding surface to form a waterproof liner bonded to the upper rim of the pool and supported by the concrete that serves as a mold.

    Abstract: A swimming pool wall 10 is made with a vertical resin wall 15 and an outer resin form 16 spaced from and parallel with each other, and concrete is poured in the space between and formed over the bottom of the pool. Both resin wall 15 and form 16 are formed as continuous strips of resin material. Vertical C-shaped channels 26 are adhered periodically to the outside surface of resin wall 15, and T-head stakes 25 interlocking with channels 26 are driven into the ground to support wall 15. Each stake 25 has a horizontal arm 30 that extends outward, and vertical braces 31 extend upward from the outer ends of arms 30. Form 16 is upheld by arms 30 and vertically supported against braces 31, making form 16 parallel with wall 15 and uniformly spaced outward from wall 15. Latches 35 extend from stakes 25 to braces 31 to support the braces and hold form 16 in place. Bars 32 are driven vertically into the ground between braces 31 and adjacent the inside surface of form 16 to prevent bulges.
