  • Patent number: 8967087
Abstract: An animal leash such as, for example, for dogs, may include an elongated flexible sleeve having a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end of the sleeve is configured to be held by a hand of a user and includes an opening for accessing an interior pocket of the sleeve. A rigid rod may be removably received within the interior pocket of the flexible sleeve through the opening to optionally make the animal leash rigid for training and/or controlling an animal (e.g., a dog) releasably attached to the leash. An attachment portion may be coupled at or near the distal end of the sleeve and may be configured to be releasably attached to a collar or harness on the animal.

  • Publication number: 20130133593
Abstract: An animal leash is provided. The animal leash such as, for example, for dogs, may include a handle portion, a rigid rod, and an attachment portion. The handle portion may be configured to be held by a hand of a user. The rigid rod may extend along a longitudinal axis and may have a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end may be rigidly connected to the handle portion. An attachment portion may be coupled at or near the distal end of the rigid rod and configured to be removeably attached to a collar or harness on the animal.

  • Patent number: 6695185
Abstract: A vehicle equipment rack for being removably attached to a vehicle rear hitch includes a carrier having a generally question-mark shape. The carrier has a substantially-vertical rigid carrier post assembly with a rigid extension arm connected to the carrier post assembly extending first in a diagonal direction toward the rear of the vehicle and then outwardly away from the rear of the vehicle to an outer end portion of the extension arm where it is connected to an attachment assembly. In one embodiment there are multiple carriers, with the post assemble of each carrier being rigidly linked to a laterally-extending cross bar that has a common post assembly for rigidly linking the multiple carriers to the hitch member. The laterally-extending cross bar extends diagonal to the horizontal so that adjacent carriers are positioned at different levels.

  • Patent number: 5141458
Abstract: A marker buoy, typically for use by divers, includes a lighter-than-water flotation component, such as a bladder (17) which can be inflated when the buoy is required to float and deflated when it is not required to float, so that the diver can easily dive with the deflated buoy and inflate it at depth, when required. A reel (19) of line (25) carried by the buoy is arranged to dispense the line therefrom when the tension in the line exceeds a chosen value.
