  • Patent number: 5724186
Abstract: A device for use in vehicular rear view mirrors which comprises a mirror and a vibrator so arranged to propagate pressure waves or vibrations in the mirror primarily perpendicular to the plane of the mirror. The vibrations are of sufficient magnitude as to cause water droplets to leave the surface of the mirror by atomization of the fine droplets or by the running together of droplets and subsequent dripping off by gravity. The bonds between the mirror face and other solid deposits including ice are quickly broken allowing the debris to fall clear, thus enhancing the clarity of vision of the mirror. The vibrators are ceramic piezoelectric transducers mounted in a Bi-Morph configuration directly on the back of the mirror.

  • Patent number: 5205877
Abstract: Making wire screens using high carbon steel wire. A first array of wires are placed in a longitudinal configuration and a second array of wires are placed transversely of said first array. The junctions where the wires meet are heated to a temperature of from about 700.degree. F. to about 1000.degree. F. for a time sufficient to disperse heat to adjacent wire areas but insufficient to cause wire fusion. A current is then applied to these junctions sufficient to cause fusion or welding of the junctions. Subsequently, a post weld heat of at least 1575.degree. F. is applied to the wires sufficient to form pearlite in substantial amounts.

  • Patent number: 4686342
Abstract: A welding process for the manufacture of high carbon steel wire mesh for use in wire screens. In this process at least two high carbon steel wires are crossed and its junction pre-weld heated. The amount of heat applied at this pre-weld step is insufficient to cause wire fusion but sufficient to allow heat to disperse to adjacent areas of each wire. The wires are subsequently welded together and further heated by raising the temperature at the wire junction to a second temperature of at least about 1575.degree. F.

  • Patent number: 4610453
Abstract: A fuel tank support for vehicles such as trucks consists of a bracket formed of wire which is detachably connected to a frame of a vehicle, the bracket conforming generally in contour to approximately half of the transverse cross sectional contour of the fuel tank. The bracket has spaced wire members with loops at each end, a strap member being pivotally connected to one loop and detachably connected to the other loop to complete the overall support of the transverse cross sectional conture of the tank. Wire reinforcing members extend angularly across the spaced wire members and are connected thereto.

  • Patent number: 4475656
Abstract: The invention provides an improved tray of the type used in dishwashers. The tray has a floor, side and end walls and fingers upstanding from the floor which are formed integrally from rods forming the floor. The tray has longitudinal rods in two groups, the first group having ends upstanding in the end walls and the second group extending in side walls and having end portions extending in the end walls orthogonally with respect to the upstanding portions of the first group. Apparatus for making the tray and a method of manufacture are also disclosed.
