Publication number: 20260146221Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to cell culture systems having controlled gas concentration boundary conditions around cell culture. In an illustrative example, a programmable cell culture system (PCCS) may include one or more manifolds, each releasably coupled to multiple cell culture modules. The cell culture modules, for example, may include a nutrient capacitive medium (NCM) in fluid communication with a concentration-controlled gas source through at least two gas transfer interfaces. The gas transfer interfaces (GTIs) may, for example, be spatially distributed in relation to a cell growth surface in the NCM. Each GTI, for example, may include a gas permeable membrane (GPM) and a plenum. The GPM may be disposed between the plenum and the NCM. Various embodiments may advantageously selectively control a concentration of at least one target gas in the NCM by maintaining predetermined boundary conditions of the cell growth surface via the GTIs.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 25, 2025Publication date: May 28, 2026Applicant: NEXTERN INNOVATION, LLCInventors: Jon F. Urban, Razul Islam, John Swoyer, Fernando Buarque, John D. Foley

Patent number: 12605525Abstract: Apparatuses and associated methods relate to a coaxial stream delivery device having an inlet section and an outlet section in fluid communication via a plenum chamber. In an illustrative example, an inner radius of the plenum chamber may monotonically decrease distally along a longitudinal axis. The inlet section may include an inner tubular wall extending along the longitudinal axis. At least one bridge may extend radially inward from the inner tubular wall to coaxially align an inner conduit within the inner tubular wall relative to the longitudinal axis. The at least one bridge may define a annular sector apertures bounded by the inner tubular wall and an outer wall of the inner conduit. Various embodiments may advantageously be disposed in a fluid path to coaxially align a therapeutic fluid stream entering the inner conduit within a sheath fluid stream entering the annular sector apertures.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 2020Date of Patent: April 21, 2026Assignee: Nextern Innovation, LLCInventors: Avnesh Thakor, John D. Foley, Ryan Douglas

In an illustrative example, an inner radius of the plenum chamber may monotonically decrease distally along a longitudinal axis. The inlet section may include an inner tubular wall extending along the longitudinal axis. At least one bridge may extend radially inward from the inner tubular wall to coaxially align an inner conduit therewithin relative to the longitudinal axis. The at least one bridge may define a corresponding number of annular sector apertures bounded by the inner tubular wall and an outer wall of the inner conduit. Various embodiments may advantageously be disposed in a fluid path to coaxially align a therapeutic fluid stream entering the inner conduit within a sheath fluid stream entering the annular sector apertures.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 3, 2020Publication date: June 10, 2021Applicant: iGenetrix, LLCInventors: Avnesh Thakor, John D.
