Patent number: 7821417Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method of detecting the correct and complete loading of parts in one or more assembly fixtures. A missing or incorrectly loaded part results in an airflow from a respective part cavity in an assembly fixture and a switch assembly, which can be located distal from the assembly fixtures, detects the airflow and provides a signal indicating that the fixture is not correctly loaded. Conversely, if each and every part is correctly loaded into the assembly fixtures, no airflow occurs and the switch assembly outputs a signal indicating that the assembly fixtures are correctly loaded and that subsequent manufacturing/assembly operations can be performed.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2007Date of Patent: October 26, 2010Assignee: Magna International Inc.Inventors: Kevin L. D. Burwell, John D. Kennedy

Patent number: 6617946Abstract: A surface mount package for a microwave circuit is disclosed. The package has a port for transferring a signal from the microwave circuit to a printed circuit board. The package includes a base made from a dielectric material which includes vias which contain a conductive material and are electrically coupled to the ground potential of the printed circuit board. Conductive material is placed on the topside of the base forming a transmission line for carrying the signal in a transmission line mode. To facilitate operation in a transmission line mode, the length of the transmission line is a substantial portion of the wavelength of the signal. The transmission line provides electrical contact with a terminal of the microwave circuit and is electrically coupled to the port. Additionally, the transmission line forms an electromagnetic wave guiding structure.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 2001Date of Patent: September 9, 2003Assignee: Skyworks Solutions, Inc.Inventors: John D. Kennedy, Jeffrey A. Scorse

Patent number: 6233038Abstract: An imaging system is provided for imaging media of while supported at an imaging position on a support surfaces. The system includes a loading device configured to move the medium to be imaged along the support surface to the imaging position. During loading, the leading edge of the medium, which extends across the medium width and substantially perpendicular to a direction of movement of the medium, moves in a direction towards a registration device. A registration device is contacted by the leading edge of the medium during loading so as to position the medium in the imaging position on the support surface. A medium securing device secures the medium to the support surface and a perforation mechanism subsequently punches or notches the medium prior to imaging. A drive mechanism is provided to move the perforation mechanism and the registration device, typically prior to loading of the medium, to a position which corresponds to the particular width of the medium to be imaged.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 1998Date of Patent: May 15, 2001Assignee: Agfa CorporationInventors: Akim Lennhoff, G. Patent number: 6133936Abstract: A system for holding recording media onto a media support surface, comprises, a media support element including a media support surface and a second side, substantially opposing the media support surface. A plurality of vacuum ports pass from the media support surface to the second side and communicate with a device for drawing air through each of the plurality of vacuum ports to hold the recording media against said media support surface. A sequencing manifold connected between the device for drawing air and the plurality of vacuum ports selectively draws air through a portion of the plurality of vacuum ports over a region substantially matching the size of the recording media.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 1997Date of Patent: October 17, 2000Assignee: Agfa CorporationInventors: Laurence S. Patent number: 3954553Abstract: A cooking liquor for the pulping of hardwoods which completely eliminates the use of all sulfur containing compounds is disclosed. The cooking liquor contains 15 to 50% of the total chemical as sodium hydroxide and 50 to 85% of the total chemical as sodium carbonate, the preferred liquor contains about 20% by weight of sodium hydroxide and 80% by weight of sodium carbonate. No adverse effect on the properties of the corrugating medium produced from such a liquor is observed when compared with the medium produced by the conventional neutral sulfite semichemical process.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 1974Date of Patent: May 4, 1976Assignee: Owens-Illinois, Inc.Inventors: Byron M.
