  • Patent number: 5581137
Abstract: This apparatus incorporates an electric motor disconnecting safety switch within the motor's electrical terminal housing. This results in a single, compact device directly mounted to the electric motor body which is used for the safety disconnect as well as the termination point for the incoming power leads and the motor wire taps. The apparatus may be employed as a disconnecting device for single phase and three phase alternating current motors as well as various configurations of direct current motors. The apparatus further includes a simple and economical adapter plate mounting configuration which accommodates the device to a multiplicity of motor frames. This apparatus is used in three embodiments: the first being a rotary tumbler switching device with an external rotary hand operator; the second device being a draw-out disconnecting means; the third device including an integral motor starter which provides both disconnecting and motor controlling functions.

  • Patent number: 5483029
Abstract: A method for combining the operation of the electrical disconnecting safety switch of an electric motor within the motor's electrical terminal housing. This method of operation results in a single, compact housing directly mounted to the electric motor body which is used for both the safety disconnect function as well as the termination point for the incoming power leads and the motor wire taps. This method of operation may be employed for single phase and three phase alternating current motors as well as commonly wired direct current motors. The method further provides for a simple and economical way of mounting the device to a variety of motor frames with the use of appropriate adapter plates. The incorporated motor safety disconnect function is available in either of two configurations. The disconnect function may be operated as a rotary tumbler switch with an external rotary hand operator which allows a fully weatherproof design.

  • Patent number: 5423683
Abstract: A health physics instrument simulator system permitting an operator to simulate measurement of radiation levels of a plurality of radiation types includes a memory for storing first data corresponding to an n-dimensional training space representing a predetermined physical location, second data defining a radiation source including source strength, source type and source location with respect to the training space and radiation intensity data based on the second data, where each of the radiation intensity data corresponds to one respective location in the training space, a selecting device for selecting a predetermined simulated radiation sensing instrument, a pointing device for identifying a location within the training space defining a current location of the simulated radiation sensing instrument and a display for displaying both an instrument display corresponding to the simulated radiation sensing instrument and radiation intensity data corresponding to the current location in the training space.

  • Patent number: 4435439
Abstract: A frozen fat-free dessert obtained by combining a pasteurized protein-containing mixture with a sufficient amount of concentrated fruit juice, such that the final product contains an equivalent level of fruit juice concentrate equal to at least 100% fruit juice and with a level of protein equivalent to that contained in a corresponding amount of whole milk.

  • Patent number: 4417899
Abstract: A coal pellet which disintegrates in the presence of excess heat and comprises coal particles, water soluble binder and water. The binder is first dissolved in water and then coal particles are blended with the aqueous binder solution. The blend is agitated until pellets are formed and then the pellets are coated with a water resistant film. The coal pellets have water entrained therein which is converted to a gaseous form when the pellets are subjected to heat thereby facilitating the heat induced bursting of the pellets to free the coal particles for more efficient burning.
