  • Publication number: 20240389857
Abstract: A minimally invasive device, containing a pressure channel, camera, and optical fiber imaging probe, to measure the stiffness of tissues in vivo and ex vivo is disclosed. The device is inserted into a patient and navigated to a tissue of interest, where stiffness is evaluated by applying suction and measuring the elongation or by applying compression force and measuring the compression of the tissue. Biopsies can be taken for further analysis, or tissue can be removed using an ablation laser. Small fluorescent molecules or therapeutics can also be delivered for improved visualization and targeted treatment. As such, this technology may be used to evaluate the stiffness of biomaterials as well as tissues and organs that are difficult to access, allowing for simultaneous diagnosis, treatment, and excision of diseased tissues.

  • Publication number: 20240024431
Abstract: A composition for topical administration to an epithelium is disclosed. The composition comprises a deconstructed matrisome including one or more enzymatically fragmented peptides derived from biological tissue. The composition further comprises one or more pharmaceutically acceptable or cosmetically acceptable excipients. The deconstructed matrisome may be fragmented through degradation by one or more enzymes to produce the one or more peptides. The one or more peptides may be configured to retain cell signaling ability, thereby promoting one or more of tissue homeostasis, tissue repair, and tissue regeneration. The composition may be used to treat a tissue such as skin tissue exhibiting scarring, acne, eczema, psoriasis, and other skin conditions.

  • Patent number: 9195820
Abstract: A computer system for authenticating user access to at least one computer application of a plurality of computer applications is provided. The computer system includes a memory device and a processor. The computer system is programmed to identify a security level from a plurality of security levels for each computer application within the plurality of computer applications. The plurality of security levels include at least a first-tier security level and a second-tier security level. The second-tier security level requires additional authentication information as compared to the first-tier security level. The computer system is also programmed to create a user account for a user within the memory device with the first-tier security level, and to determine that the user account requires the second-tier security level, and prompt the user to enter the additional authentication information. The computer system is also programmed to promote the user account to the second-tier security level.

  • Patent number: 8159932
Abstract: An apparatus for and a method of wirelessly receiving a signal, and detecting a start of packet (SOP) from the received signal using at least one SOP detection criterion. In the case an SOP is detected, determining a plurality of metrics from the received signal, and using at least two of the plurality of metrics to determine an initial timing for a received packet. Different versions combine the metrics in different ways to determine the initial timing. The apparatus includes a processing circuit coupled to a radio receiver to determine a plurality of metrics from a wirelessly received signal, and an initial time determining circuit coupled to the SOP detector and the processing circuit. In the case an SOP is detected, the initial time determining circuit uses at least two of the plurality of metrics to determine an initial timing for a received packet.
