  • Publication number: 20140271034
Abstract: An anchor for securing a threaded rod to a concrete structural element has a generally tapered conical or spherical body element configured to be seated within the concrete structural element. The anchor further includes a threaded bore extending through the body element. The threaded bore engages the threads of the rod in order to secure the rod to the concrete structural element. The body element has a generally planar top face having a top face diameter, as well as a generally planar bottom face having a bottom face diameter. Formed between the top face and the bottom face is a side wall such that the body element is formed with a taper. The taper is inserted into a complementary recess formed within the concrete structural element.

  • Patent number: 6519868
Abstract: A photographic mounting system correlates photographs with height by providing a vertically mountable ruler configured to adjustably receive and hold photograph frames at various adjustably selected heights on the ruler. The frames, in turn, hold the photographs, thus allowing placement of the photographs at selected heights on the ruler. Various locking mechanisms are disclosed to secure the frames to the ruler and prevent inadvertent or unauthorized removal. Also disclosed is a virtual equivalent of the physical system, the virtual equivalent having a greater variety of possible modifications and a greater amount of information linked to various growth indicia.

  • Patent number: 6493998
Abstract: A Flare Strut System including a plurality of strut pairs, each forming an assembly for transferring force between wall and a roof continuity element. Each assembly is comprised of two elongated strut elements, or load transfer members, each including a longitudinal rotation and adjustment member at one end thereof, a first end connector assembly for facilitating connection of one end of the strut element to a wall, and a second end connector assembly for facilitating attachment of the other end of the strut element to a continuity element connection assembly, the latter assembly being adapted to combine with a corresponding connection assembly and sandwich the continuity element therebetween. Each strut element is adapted to angularly intersect both the engaged wall and the continuity element at acute angles which are determined by the particular buildings design.

  • Patent number: 5992126
Abstract: A manually adjustable structural load transferring device and system for providing tension and compression force transfer between a plurality of spaced building structural members. A pair of load transfer members are each provided with a threaded first end and a second end, the threaded first end of one of the pair of members having threads of opposite pitch to those of the first end of the other one. A coupler member has first and second threaded ends engaged with the threaded first ends of the pair of load transfer members so that the length of the assembly can be adjusted by relative rotation between the coupler member and the load transfer members. An end connection device is attached to the second end of each of the load transfer members, the end connection device including a plurality of fastener apertures and a plurality of bolt apertures for securing the base plate to a building structural member. Several embodiments of end connection devices are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5881514
Abstract: A rod tie system for enhancing the interconnection between the walls and roof framing systems of tilt-up buildings and the like including a first type of connection bracket, a second type connection bracket, a clevis bracket, a turnbuckle bracket, a transfer lug, and several lengths of threaded rod. The first connection bracket and the clevis bracket can be combined to form a single plane articulating bracket, and the second type of connection bracket and the clevis bracket can be combined to form a dual plane articulating bracket. The several lengths of threaded rod are combined with the above brackets, as needed, to form a particular rod tie system. Among the principal advantages of the present invention are that the components thereof can easily be made from readily available stock material using only stamping or shearing devices, drills and welding equipment.
