  • Patent number: 6360222
Abstract: A method of and system for organizing entries of an information directory based on relationships or “connections” between the users, and for adding new directory entries to the information directory without intervention by a system administrator. Each connection between entries is created with a “relationship type” describing the connection. According to one embodiment of the present invention, new entries are created by existing users who have existing entries in the information directory. Significantly, an existing user is allowed to access and modify contents of his own directory entry. The existing user may then submit a new user profile to the information directory system to create a new entry for the new user. Further, when an existing user submits the profile for a new user, the information is stored in a relationship list within the existing user's entry.

  • Patent number: 5079537
Abstract: A support plate for mounting one or more potentiometers includes a receptor for receiving a potentiometer and alignment tabs for guiding the potentiometer into position and preventing it from rotating during mounting. The potentiometer may be secured to the alignment plate through the application of clamping force produced by torquing a lock nut on the threaded stem of the potentiometer. The alignment tabs prevent the potentiometer from rotating during the application of the clamping force so that the contacts of the potentiometer maintain a predetermined position.

  • Patent number: 4879635
Abstract: A mounting for the electronic components of computer system's functional control unit comprises a housing for supporting a display unit and for enclosing an electronics chassis comprising electronics to control access to a variety of peripheral units. The electronics chassis is removably mounted within the housing on slide rails so as to be removed, serviced or replaced without having to lift the terminal off the housing of the functional control unit. The mounting thus simplifies the installation and maintenance procedures for computer systems.
