  • Patent number: 11464223
Abstract: The corner caps have retention flanges and tabs which prevent the caps from being pulled or rooted from the corner posts. The corner cap includes two adjacent upright rear walls that terminate in angled retaining flanges and an L-shaped bottom wall that terminate in angled retaining tabs. The edge of the retaining tabs and retaining flanges press against the walls of the corner posts when the corner cap is inserted into the corner post. The mechanical resilience in the bends that form the retaining tabs and flanges allow the engagement between the corner cap and corner post to securely hold the cap within the post and prevent it from being pulled or rooted out of the corner post by small animals.

  • Publication number: 20140357181
Abstract: A ridge vent end cap that can be readily bent to conform to roofs of varying pitches while enclosing ridge vents of various styles. The end caps are bent and fashioned for a flat blank, which is configured to allow it to be bent and formed into a shape that accommodates various styles of ridge vents and that encloses ridge vents on roofs with varying pitches. The bent finished end cap has a top ridge beam and a pair of end panels, bottom flaps and corner flaps. Each corner flap has its own top corner flap and a bottom corner flap. A preformed key hole slot along the central axis/plane of the blank or finished end cap allows the end cap to bend without buckling so that the end panels slide over one another to enclose the end open of the ridge vent while conforming to the pitch of the roof. A tooth is formed in one of the bottom flaps, which bites into the roof shingles helps ensure that the end panels cannot be pried up or burrowed under by rodents and insects.

  • Patent number: 7406799
Abstract: A system for supporting a household plant includes an electric circuit for selectively moving the plant having a battery and a direct current motor for moving the plant. The motor control is by a first controllable switching device to connect the battery to the motor with a first polarity to cause the plant to move in a first direction, or a second controllable switching device to connect the battery to the motor with a second polarity opposite the first polarity to cause the plant to move in a second direction. A controller selectively enables either the first or second switching devices while leaving the other disabled and in conjunction with a light sensing device and analog comparison circuit precludes actuation of either switching device if inadequate growth promoting light is sensed.

  • Patent number: 6098334
Abstract: A cage for trapping an animal having a timing system for indicating the time that the animal was trapped in an enclosure. The cage is defined by a housing having an opening therein with a door which is opened to allow an animal to enter the housing. A closure arrangement responds to the animal passing through the opening for closing the door to trap the animal in the housing. A clock, having a second hand, minute hand, hour hand and an indicator hand that move with respect to a dial face, is secured to the housing. A lever responsive to the closure of the door activates a switch to stop the clock and provide an indication of the time that the door was closed by the location of the hour hand and indicator hand. If the indicator hand is located on the left hand side of the hour hand an animal was trapped within the first twelve hours after the trap was set and if the indicator hand is on the right hand side of the hour hand the animal was trapped more than twelve hours after the trap was set.

  • Patent number: 5070358
Abstract: The present invention comprises a contact printer (10) which utilizes a flat tube monitor (30) connected with a computer (40) that permits the image or light array (32) projected by the monitor (30) to be manually and selectively altered in accordance with an operator's evaluation of the image (32) directed upon a negative (20). The operator may selectively dodge, burn, or offset the intensity of the image (32) so that an adjacent area of the negative (20) receives a corresponding alteration. The printer (10) enables the provision of custom contact prints made in accordance with the operator's evaluation of the light array (32) shining through the negative (20) so that the negative (20) is selectively modified acccording to the operator's desire.
