  • Patent number: 4418336
Abstract: An alarm device for a fire extinguisher to detect when the fire extinguisher is removed from its storage post includes a flexible cable which is slidably insertable within a guide passage between the permanent magnet and a reed switch. One end of the cable is inserted into an alarm housing which contains the reed switch and magnet while the other end of the cable is fixedly secured to a fire extinguisher of the stationary support post. In the first instance, the alarm housing is secured to the stationary storage post while in the second case the alarm unit 16 is secured by a harness to the fire extinguisher itself. In either case, movement of the fire extinguisher causes the flexible cable to withdraw from the alarm housing and closed the reed switch to complete a circuit which produces an audible alarm signal.

  • Patent number: 4280316
Abstract: A sugar cube holding device formed with a riding horse bridle bit having a rigid mouthpiece provided with an inverted U-shaped curb and having a roller loosely journalled for rotation in opposing directions about the axis of the mouthpiece at the depending limit of the curb. A downwardly open hood is placed over the inverted U-shape curb and is rigidly secured thereto to form a downwardly open chamber within the confines of the curb. An opening is formed in the rearwardly disposed wall of the hood for admitting a cube of sugar.

  • Patent number: 4267549
Abstract: A fire alarm pull station protector is provided comprising a wall mounted framing member and a cover adapted to abuttingly engage the framing member. The cover is pivotally connected to the framing member by hinge means having a laterally displacement pivotal axis to permit the cover to remain disengaged from the framing member once the cover has been opened to gain access to the fire alarm pull station. The cover includes a first, preferably opaque, portion which conceals a local alarm and switch unit, as well as a substantially transparent portion which provides a substantially unobstructed view of the pull station.

  • Patent number: 4083370
Abstract: An elongated plunger is slidably connected at one end with one end of a sleeve for telescoping movement into the sleeve. The other end portion of the sleeve releasably supports a cannula to be inserted at one end through the skin and stomach wall of a bloated animal. Flexible wing members on the pointed end portion of the cannula normally maintains the inserted end portion of the cannula within the animal's stomach. A stop, slidably surrounding the other end portion of the cannula, maintains one end portion of the cannula projecting outwardly of the animal's skin.

  • Patent number: 4063404
Abstract: A sugar cube holding device formed with a riding horse bridle bit having a rigid mouthpiece provided with an inverted U-shaped bend medially its ends and having a roller loosely journalled for rotation in opposing directions about the axis of the mouthpiece at the depending limit of the inverted U-shaped bend. A downwardly open hood is placed over the inverted U-shape bend and is rigidly secured thereto to form a downwardly open chamber within the confines of the inverted U-shaped bend. An opening is formed in the rearwardly disposed wall of the hood and is normally closed by a plug after inserting a single cube of sugar into the chamber.

  • Patent number: 3953015
Abstract: A tool for temporarily holding one or both ends of a piece of wallboard or plaster-board adjacent a ceiling joist to assist in nailing or otherwise fastening the board to the joist is disclosed. In one embodiment the tool includes a right angle plate with a handle at the bottom and an inverted U-shaped flange along the top edge for engagement over a joist as the end edge of the wallboard is carried and supported by the plate. The U-shaped flange is dimensioned from the plate so as to be engageable of joists of different widths. In another embodiment the inverted U-shaped flange is adjustable so that different widths of joists can be accommodated to bring the end edge of the wallboard relatively close to the bottom edge of the joist for convenience in nailing.
