  • Patent number: 7607403
Abstract: A method of providing team scoring information at a wrestling meet. This method includes providing a scoring device with team names and a team score associated with each team name. Information related to the wrestling match is then inputted into the scoring device and the team score is updated as the information is inputted. Additionally, the scoring device allows spectators to view what weight classes have been completed.

  • Patent number: 7526926
Abstract: A drive system for a refrigeration compressor such as is used in a natural gas liquefaction plant, allowing the desired compressor speed and maximum turbine efficiency to be maintained throughout varying ambient temperature conditions. A gas turbine is used with an electric starter motor with drive-through capability located on a common drive shaft between the turbine and the compressor. A variable frequency drive (VFD) is connected between the electrical power grid and the electric motor for smooth startups, but also to allow excess turbine mechanical power to be converted to electrical power by the motor operating as a generator, and delivered to the grid at the grid frequency. Pulse width modulation technology may be used to reduce harmonic distortion in the VFD's output. The starter motor also functions as a helper motor when the turbine output is insufficient to drive the compressor at the rotational speed needed to meet throughput requirements.

  • Patent number: 6307179
Abstract: A welding gun contact tip which seats within a retaining member and in two different seating locations relative to the contact member. The contact tip includes an interwoven-double-start thread having two thread cuts which start 180 degrees from one another as measured around the circumference of the contact tip. Additionally, the retaining member includes an interwoven-double-start thread having two thread cuts which start 180 degrees from one another as measured around the circumference of the contact tip. Because of the configuration of the interwoven-double-start threads, the two seating locations of the contact tip are 180 degrees apart thereby enabling the contact tip to be used twice as long as a conventional contact tip which includes a single cut thread. Further, the contact tip and retaining member include mating frustum surfaces which are configured and dimensioned so that the contact tip seats within the retaining member with less than one turn of the contact tip relative to the retaining member.

  • Patent number: 5665017
Abstract: A new Tether Ball Safety Cover for offering a tether ball cover to prevent injury caused by contact with the tether ball eye loop or rope retaining knot. The inventive device includes a tether ball, a conical shaped protector, inner Velcro strips, and outer Velcro strips. In use, referring to FIGS. 5 and 6, the conical shaped protector 14 is slid onto the rope 16. Then the rope 16 is threaded through the tether ball eye loop 40 and the rope retaining knot 18 is tied into the end of the rope 16 to prevent the rope 16 from slipping back through the tether ball eye loop 40. Lastly, the conical shaped protector 14 is slid down to engage the tether ball 12, mating inner Velcro strips 28 with outer Velcro strips 26, thereby removably holding the assembly together and therefore providing a shield to prevent injury causing contact with the tether ball eye loop 40 or the rope retaining knot 18.

  • Patent number: 4380280
Abstract: The present invention provides an externally engagable clutch which comprises an inner rotating hub member operably attached to a rotating back plate upon which is pivotly mounted an eccentric arm and a circular shaped clutch assembly provided with a clutch lining. An outer rotating clutch drum hub is provided which is rotatably attached to and in alignment with the inner rotating hub. Clutch drum hub eccentric cam means are mounted on the outer peripheral surface of the outer drum hub. Cam follower means is rotatably mounted upon the eccentric arm in constant rolling contact with a cam surface. As the cam follower means is displaced over the peripheral surface of the cam the eccentric arm is caused to shove the clutch assembly outwards into frictional contact with the clutch drum thereby connecting the driving source with the driven member. A throw out lever assembly is rotatably mounted upon the outer portion of the outer rotating clutch drum hub for laterally displacing the cam or cam follower.
