  • Patent number: 6481241
Abstract: An accumulator for an automotive air-conditioning system includes a suction tube having an inlet leg, an outlet leg, and a bight therebetween. A pickup filter is mounted to the bight of the suction tube and cooperates with a desiccant bag. The pickup filter has a clasp circumscribing a portion of the bight, wherein the clasp includes a flange extending therefrom. The pickup filter further has a screen filter body extending integrally and downwardly from the clasp. The desiccant bag includes a flap extending from one end, wherein the flap includes an aperture therethrough defining a locating edge at one end or side thereof. • Patent number: 6404106
Abstract: This invention concerns a transducer comprising a layer of active material and a backing plate (110). The backing plate (110) has first and second major surfaces. A layer (111) of active material is affixed to the first surface. The transducer also includes a region adjacent to the second major surface into which region the backing plate (110) can be deflected. The region is substantially isolated from any external pressure incident on the layer of active material. Moreover, the backing plate (110) and/or layer of active material (111) is of a non-uniform thickness. Preferably, the backing plate (110) is thicker at a central region thereof than at an edge region thereof.

  • Publication number: 20020059704
Abstract: A holding device for a lead rope (25) of a horse has a horizontal channel for the rope defined between upper and lower pairs of projecting fingers (5,6). A latch element (9) is pivoted between the lower fingers (6) so that it can move up to a vertical position at which it closes the front of the channel. A lever (15) is pivoted behind a lower part of the latch element (9). The rope (25) has a knot (26) at one end. When the lever (15) is vertical this holds the latch element (9) vertical so that the rope (25) cannot be pulled out of the channel. When the lever (15) is pivoted to one side, the latch element (9) can swing down to open the channel and allow release of the rope (25).

  • Patent number: 5990054
Abstract: A lubricant contains a fire-resistant water/glycol mixture combined with polytetrafluoroethylene, and is useful in the hydraulic systems of die casting machines, for example. The addition of polytetrafluoroethylene enhances the lubricity of fire-resistant hydraulic fluids thereby reducing the associated equipment maintenance. A preferred lubricant is formed by sequentially and homogeneously blending its constituents thereby prolonging the shelf life of the final product.

  • Patent number: 4063622
Abstract: An air operated brake actuator has an air pressure operated brake force applying member, the application to and removal of pressure from which member determines the brake force, another such member which must be separately pressurised to follow the first member to lock in a brake force, and yet another member which requires to be additionally pressurized to effect unlocking of the brake force.

  • Patent number: 4060961
Abstract: A rotor for crop handling machines has a plurality of double-pivoted, radially-extending arms and structure on the segments of each arm to position the segments such that any radially inwardly directed impact force, such as from stones and other obstructions, causes immediate buckling of the arm about its pivot points instead of fracturing the segments or bending their mounting pins. In one embodiment, each arm is provided with a positive stop between the segments that holds them in a pre-buckled condition such that the tip of the outer segment, with respect to the direction of rotation of the rotor, trails the common plane containing the pivotal axes of the double-pivoted arm. In a second embodiment the individual segments are constructed such that their centers of gravity are laterally offset, with respect to one another, causing the desired trailing relationship of the tip of the outer segment.

  • Patent number: 4033101
Abstract: In the interval between successive press cycles, crop material is picked up from the field and loaded into the stack-forming body of the machine. However, upon initiation of a press cycle, crop material, which continues to be picked up as the machine is advanced, is diverted into an accumulating chamber and collected within the latter until termination of the press cycle. Thereupon, the accumulation is discharged for recycling through the pickup and loading mechanism to be delivered into the forming body along with previously uncycled material. Alternative embodiments involve discharging the accumulation onto the ground ahead of the loader for pickup by the latter a second time, and discharging the accumulation either directly into the front or rear of the loader at a point above the ground.

  • Patent number: 4015520
Abstract: A stack-forming machine is provided with press reciprocating mechanism which tilts said press during reciprocation of the latter from a substantially horizontal position at or near the lower limit of press travel to a canted position at the upper limit of press travel wherein the front of the press adjacent the crop loader is above the rear of the press. A first embodiment of the invention utilizes interconnected two-bar linkages, one of which has a lost motion connection between its links; a second embodiment utilizes interconnected parallel and skewed four-bar linkages to tilt the press; while yet a third embodiment utilizes two-bar linkages of unequal length to accomplish press tilting.
