  • Publication number: 20090031433
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods of screening for potential insecticidal agents using genes encoding proteins that regulate xenobiotic detoxification in insects. In particular the invention relates to methods of using insect nuclear hormone receptor genes, in particular dhr96 or homologues thereof and/or their promoters. Such methods employ inter alia transgenic cells and/or transgenic whole organisms in which one or more nuclear hormone receptor gene is deleted or under-expressed.

  • Patent number: 6156536
Abstract: Novel insect toxins obtainable from Bracon hebetor, including DNA sequences which encode therefor, a recombinant DNA construct which comprises at least one DNA sequence which encodes said toxins, and a biological control agent comprising said recombinant DNA construct.

  • Patent number: 5885569
Abstract: A recombinant baculovirus for use as an insect control agent having a genome which comprises a polyhedrin gene and a heterologous gene, which expresses an insecticidal protein, wherein the polyhedrin gene and the heterologous gene are not under the control of the same promoter, and are located on the genome such that viral progeny produced by a recombination event with wild-type baculovirus which are viable do not retain expression of both the polyhedrin gene and the heterologous gene.

Date of Patent: March 23, 1999
