    Abstract: A reinforced structural casting comprises a cementitious material having a unitary reinforcement of consolidated, collimated or other generally unidirectionally aligned or woven graphite or carbon fibers, sometimes carried in a preformed resin binder, the graphite or carbon fibers preferably being in the range of about 7-12 microns in diameter and having moduli of elasticity in the range of 20-100 million psi. It may, for example, be a concrete beam reinforced by a rod-like preform of graphite fibers.
