  • Publication number: 20210095908
Abstract: A cross-connected refrigeration system includes a first refrigeration subsystem and a second refrigeration subsystem that are fluidly coupled by a header, each of the first refrigeration subsystem and the second refrigeration subsystem including a refrigeration loop including a compressor, a condenser, an expansion device, and an evaporator, and a heating loop including an electrically-controlled valve, and the evaporator, and a header connection that connects the refrigeration loops and the heating loops of the first refrigeration subsystem and the second refrigeration subsystem to a common header, respectively. The compressor in the first refrigeration subsystem is selectively deactivated and the electrically-controlled valve in the first refrigeration subsystem is selectively opened such that compressed gas from the compressor in the second refrigeration subsystem enters the heating loop of the first refrigeration subsystem and heats the evaporator of the first refrigeration subsystem.

  • Patent number: 7331271
Abstract: An assembly includes a cylinder (232) and a piston assembly (212) housed within the cylinder and configured for reciprocal motion relative to the cylinder. The piston assembly and cylinder include a magnet (230) and coil (234) configured to undergo relative motion of the piston assembly and cylinder. The assembly includes a transition arm (214) and a rotating member (222) coupled to the piston assembly by the transition arm. The reciprocal motion is linear in space and sinusoidal in time.

  • Publication number: 20050210698
Abstract: A clothes dryer has a heat source, preferably a heat pump, a rotating drum, and means to generate flow of air from the heat source to an inlet in the drum. At least two outlets are separated from each other in the drum to enable higher air flow rates without increase in pressure drop, resulting in reduced drying time.

  • Publication number: 20010039875
Abstract: An adjustable packing gland assembly is mounted for adjustable engagement with a seal and a packing in a fluid pumping apparatus for sealing against fluid leakage about reciprocating plungers and like pumping elements, the adjustable packing gland also stabilizes the pumping element. A stuffing box is formed in the pump housing and spaced packing gland shoulder bolts bottom out on that housing. A packing gland is disposed in the stuffing box and is slidably mounted on the spaced adjustment studs, each of the shoulder bolts having adjusting nuts and pipe sleeves disposed for precision adjustment of the packing gland. Bearing against the plunger on either side of the packing and seal are guiding elements made of a low wear material which possesses lubricity as against the plunger. The upper guide may be integrally formed with the gland. An eccentric liner is made of a similar material as the guides, rendering it a low wear item in need of little or no lubrication.

  • Patent number: 5142968
Abstract: An automated system for storing and cooking french fried potatoes includes a refrigeration and storage assembly and unique transport system which is easily used with fryers of a commercial type. The transport system includes a horizontal and vertical transport assembly for moving baskets of fries to and from the one or more fryers, with the vertical transport assembly being adapted to lower the basket into the fryer as well as support the basket above the fryer after cooking so as to allow the basket to drain. In accordance with another aspect of the present invention the refrigeration system is such and the strips are oriented all in substantially the same direction before being loaded into a basket so as to enable the fries to be cooked with little or no sticking without requiring the operator to shake the potatoes during or following cooking.
