Patent number: 11391169Abstract: A blade wheel of a turbomachine, which blade wheel has a multiplicity of blades which are suitable and provided for extending radially in a flow path of the turbomachine, wherein the blades form a blade entry angle and a blade exit angle. Provision is made whereby the blade wheel forms N blocks of blades, where N?2, wherein the blades of a block have in each case the same blade entry angle and the same blade exit angle, and the blades of at least two mutually adjacent blocks have a different blade entry angle and/or a different blade exit angle. According to a further aspect of the invention, partial gaps that the blades form in relation to an adjacent flow path boundary are varied in mutually adjacent blocks.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2021Date of Patent: July 19, 2022Assignees: ROLLS-ROYCE DEUTSCHLAND LTD & CO KG, ROLLS-ROYCE PLCInventors: Sven Schrape, Bernhard Mück, Jens Nipkau, Thomas Giersch, Frank Heinichen, John Dodds

Patent number: 11242912Abstract: A chain fastening assembly includes a fastener that has a first loop and a second loop. The first loop has a clevis that is attached to a chain being releasably fastened to the first loop. Additionally, the first loop has a diameter that is sufficient to have a chain link passed therethrough regardless of the orientation of the chain link. The second loop has an inside diameter being sufficient to have a chain link passed therethrough when the chain link is oriented to lie on a vertical plane. Thus, the chain link can be passed into the second loop. Moreover, the second loop has an inside diameter being insufficient to allow the chain link to pass therethrough when the chain link is oriented to lie on a horizontal plane. In this way the fastener retains the chain in a closed loop for towing or the like.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2019Date of Patent: February 8, 2022Inventor: John Dodds

Patent number: 10203382Abstract: An implantable parametric circuit enables local signal amplification and wireless transmission of RF signals in connection with magnetic resonance imaging systems. The parametric circuit detects RF signal detected during magnetic resonance imaging procedure, amplifies the detected RF signal, and transmits the amplified RF signal in a wireless manner to an external pick-up coil. The parametric amplifier is also configured to use another RF signal generated by an external source as the primary power source. As a result, implanted or catheter coils could be used as a wireless signal transducer without the need for a battery or a power connection.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 2017Date of Patent: February 12, 2019Assignee: The United States of America, as Represented by the Secretary, Department of Health and Human ServicesInventors: Chunqi Qian, Joe Murphy-Boesch, Alan Koretsky, Stephen John Dodd
