  • Publication number: 20240085184
Abstract: A tracking device comprises a processor and an accelerometer. The tracking device may be affixed to a pallet. The accelerometer may generate one or more acceleration values responsive to movement of the tracking device/pallet. Movement of the palette may result in the accelerometer generating a number of acceleration values, exceeding a magnitude threshold, that is higher than a configured number of acceleration values that correspond to the magnitude threshold. A number of determined acceleration values exceeding the configured number of acceleration values may result in a determination by the processor that the pallet is unladen. Based on the determination that the palette is unladen, the processor may generate an unladen message. The processor may direct transmission of the unladen message corresponding to the unladen packet to a pallet tracking management application, which may use the unladen message to facilitate pallet logistics operations.

  • Patent number: 9558598
Abstract: A vehicle head unit may receive a request, from a user device and by the head unit, to establish communication with a control device of a vehicle. The control device may be in communication with the head unit via a vehicle communication network associated with the vehicle. The head unit may establish communication between the user device and the control device based on the received request. The head unit may forward a message between the user device and the control device based on the established communication. The message may be forwarded between the user device and the control device via the head unit.

  • Publication number: 20150127570
Abstract: A device is configured to receive vehicle information associated with a vehicle, and determine that the vehicle has been in an accident based on the vehicle information. The device is configured to generate an accident report based on determining that the vehicle has been in the accident and based on the vehicle information. The device is configured to provide the accident report for display, and to receive a confirmation that the accident report is accurate based on providing the accident report for display. The device is configured to output the accident report based on receiving the confirmation.

  • Publication number: 20120290150
Abstract: An initiator located on a car energizes an RFID fixed to a roadway. The RFID returns identification and other information. The initiator may include a vehicle mobile device such as a telematics device, or smartphone, which, may couple to an initiator transponder or receiver. A receiver uses the RFID information to perform an action, e.g., using the identifier to generate driving instructions, play advertising content, or generate alerts and warnings for various dangerous conditions and maneuvers. The vehicle mobile device can transmit marker identifiers to a central server for use in traffic flow analysis to count the number of vehicles that transmit a marker's identifier during a period. Marker information can form an instruction upon reaching a given marker traveling at a certain speed to operate the steering wheel at a given angle to follow a predetermined turn radius, or to reduce speed to comply with a reduced speed limit.

  • Patent number: 6222147
Abstract: An improved exhaust baffle for a circuit protective device such as a circuit breaker utilizes material having elastomeric characteristics to provide for variable apertures where the cross-sectional opening of the apertures is dependent on the pressure gradient across the exhaust baffle, thereby effectively controlling arc pressure and arc effluent during short circuit interruption. Fabrication of the exhaust baffle with geometric symmetry about one or more axes or planes also facilitates assembly during product construction.

  • Patent number: 4679672
Abstract: In an overhead electric traction system a simple and inexpensive mid-point anchor comprises a mast and, mounted on the upper part of the mast, a cantilever structure comprising a pair of rigid elongate members which lie in a common plane and extended transversely with respect to and lie spaced apart in a direction lengthwise of the track, and which at their ends nearer the track are connected to the mast by a third transversely extending elongate member inclined at an acute angle to the common plane. The ends of the members remote from the track are connected to opposite ends of a rigid bar which extends lengthwise of the track, which is pivotally connected to the mast about a vertical axis and which, at each of its end portions, is connected to the mast by a flexible tie. In the event of an unbalanced load on the catenary, pivotal movement of the cantilever structure about the vertical axis is prevented by one of the flexible ties and the out of balance load is transferred to the mast as a torsional load.
