  • Patent number: 7963111
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for generating energy from an undulating movement of a medium such as seawater, comprising of following the movement of the medium, wherein a direction of movement of the movement changes at a point in time, converting the followed movement into energy, interrupting the following of the movement for an interruption period close to the point in time, wherein conversion of energy comprises of pumping a fluid with the followed movement by feeding and discharging said fluid.

  • Patent number: 7419366
Abstract: An apparatus for storage of potential energy using water from a deep body of water is described. The apparatus comprises one module including a cylinder, a piston slidably connected to the cylinder, a column for storing the water from the deep body of water received through an inlet being in communication with the cylinder/piston, and a connecting tube which mutually connects the cylinder and the column. The apparatus further comprises driving means for reciprocally displacing the piston in relation to the cylinder, wherein the driving means is a crankshaft drivingly connected to the piston and at least one flywheel mounted to the crankshaft for counteracting the pressure as result of the water stored in the column.

  • Patent number: 6216455
Abstract: An apparatus for conversion of energy from the vertical movement of seawater is made of a hollow body situated substantially upright on the sea bottom and provided with at least one aperture in a wall thereof. The water is free to move into and out of the hollow body. The apparatus also has a floating body moveable with respect to the hollow body in the vertical direction caused by the movement of the seawater level. The floating body is in communication with the space in the hollow body in order to change the volume thereof, so that a fluid flow is created inside the hollow body and is used to drive a propeller being connected directly or indirectly to an energy generator.
