  • Publication number: 20240044018
Abstract: A process for producing solid carbon and gaseous oxygen from CO2 via electrolysis using an electrolysis apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus includes a chamber with an electrolyte inlet, an electrolyte outlet, a liquid electrolyte containing CO2 in the chamber, at least one cathode-anode pair, with the cathode including a liquid metal capable of catalysing reduction of CO2 to solid carbon at a selected operating temperature of the process. The process includes causing the electrolyte to flow from the inlet to the outlet in fluid communication with the cathode-anode pair, applying a voltage between the cathode-anode pair and causing solid carbon to form on the cathode from CO2 in the electrolyte and gaseous oxygen to be evolved at the anode from CO2 in the electrolyte.

  • Patent number: 8967165
Abstract: A fluid filtration assembly for a dishwasher system is described. The dishwasher system includes a tub defining a wash chamber configured to receive dishwasher contents. The fluid filtration assembly includes a filter assembly having a filter material, a filter fluid inlet, and a filter fluid outlet. The filter fluid inlet is in flow communication with the wash chamber and the filter material. The filter assembly further includes a cleaning fluid inlet that is configured to backflush the filter material. The filter fluid outlet is in flow communication with both the cleaning fluid inlet and the filter fluid inlet. The fluid filtration assembly further includes a valve assembly in flow communication with the cleaning fluid inlet through a first flow path.

  • Patent number: 8728248
Abstract: An adjustable filter system for a dishwashing appliance is provided. More specifically, a filter system is provided whereby the relative amount of fluid filtered by two different filters can be selectively controlled during operation of the dishwashing appliance. Flow can be directed primarily to one filter or the other depending upon the size of the soil particles expected at certain times during the cleaning process. Selection can be e.g., based on the temperature of fluid used in the appliance or determined by a controller.

  • Publication number: 20130186440
Abstract: The present subject matter provides an appliance with features for determining a time interval for liquid flowing into and/or out of the appliance. For example, a flow of liquid into and/or out of a wash chamber of the appliance is initiated, and a first time is noted. A turbidity sensor is monitored until the sensor detects liquid or air respectively, and a second time is logged. A time interval is calculated based at least in part on the first time and the second time.

  • Publication number: 20070073224
Abstract: A safety syringe having a safety shield (28) that can be repeatedly latched into the extended and retracted positions or permanently locked into the extended position. The syringe includes a barrel (34) that has gripping surfaces (76) that aid the user in controlling the syringe and naturally positions the user's hand for operating the plunger (24) and the safety shield's actuator (30). The syringe also includes a gear (52) and rack (56, 58) mechanism which moves the safety shield (28) a further distance than the user pushes the actuator (30).
