  • Patent number: 8231058
Abstract: A transaction product assembly includes a transaction product and a supporting backer. The transaction product includes an account identifier, a primary article, and a panel. The account identifier links the transaction product to at least one of an account and a record, and the account identifier is machine readable by a point-of-sale terminal. The primary article defines a substantially planar surface. The panel extends across the substantially planar surface to define a pocket between the panel and the substantially planar surface. The supporting backer is formed separately from the transaction product and includes a flap extending into the pocket to at least partially couple the supporting backer to the transaction product. Other products, assemblies, combinations and associated methods are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20120072910
Abstract: Embodiments provide techniques for customers to easily, quickly and remotely manage their virtual data centers. Using, for example, a “single pane of glass” GUI view which shows all of the components (including e.g., machines (cpu and RAM), network services (load balancers, firewalls, network address translation, IP management) and storage) of their virtual data centers, provides a complete overview and a starting point for system or component management. According to embodiments, a Roles Based Access Control (RBAC) system is provided which simulates the organizational structure and workflow of a typical IT department to enable workflow management via the GUI for any component or function of a customer's virtual data center.

  • Publication number: 20100197328
Abstract: A wireless communications system is depicted in which a message can be delivered to a wireless device. In the communications system, a first number included within a true address for communication with the device is associated with the device. A second number distinct from the first number is also associated with the device. A communication is received that includes a phantom address, at least a portion of which includes the second number, and a message. The true address is derived by at least deriving the first number from the second number. The message can then be delivered to the device based upon the derived true address.

  • Publication number: 20060247416
Abstract: Provided are synthetic peptides based on a native sequence of HIV gp41 HR2 except that the synthetic peptides have a plurality of amino acid replacements comprising (a) a helix-promoting amino acid, or (b) a combination of helix-promoting amino acids, and charged amino acids introduced to form ion pairs in the synthetic peptide; wherein the synthetic peptides demonstrate an unexpected, improved biological activity, as compared to a peptide having an amino acid sequence without the plurality of amino acid substitutions. Also provided are polynucleotides encoding synthetic peptide, and methods of using these synthetic peptides in inhibition of, or as compositions to inhibit, transmission of HIV to a target cell.

  • Publication number: 20040091855
Abstract: Provided is a method for identifying or producing a molecule having antiviral activity against HIV. More particularly, provided is a method for identifying or producing a molecule that can inhibit the binding between HR1 and HR2 regions of HIV gp41, wherein complex formation is observed in vitro between a trimer with HR2 peptide in the presence of the molecule, and detected in vitro is the ability of the molecule to inhibit complex formation as an indicator of the antiviral activity of the molecule. The trimer is comprised of synthetic peptide comprising an amino acid sequence derived from the HR1 region of HIV-1 gp41 and further comprising one or more amino acid substitutions in a hydrophobic domain of the HR1 region of HIV which enable the synthetic peptide to self-assemble in solution into trimers.

  • Publication number: 20040076637
Abstract: Provided are synthetic peptides comprising amino acid sequence from the HR1 region of HIV-1 gp41, and having one or more amino acid substitutions in a hydrophobic domain of the HR1 region of HIV-1 gp41. As a result of the one or more amino acid substitutions in the hydrophobic domain, synthetic peptide self-assembles into trimers in solution. Also provided are trimers resulting from self-association of synthetic peptide. Additionally provided are methods of using these compositions to inhibit transmission of HIV to a target cell, or to inhibit HIV fusion to a target cell, wherein the methods involve adding an effective amount of synthetic peptide (or trimer formed therefrom) to inhibit viral transmission or viral fusion, respectively.
