  • Patent number: 5551722
Abstract: A vehicle suspension link or attachment includes prefabricated and assembled elements comprising a bolt or stud assembly and retainer elements on each end. The stud or bolt assembly is mounted between two suspension elements and secured by the retainer assemblies to provide a rigid, spaced, shock-absorbing connection between components of a vehicle suspension system. The invention is used in one form as a connecting link between the end of a stabilizer bar or anti-sway bar and the movable mounting arms of the vehicle's independent suspension system. The stud type suspension link includes a single spacer element or a pair of spaced-apart spacer elements which are integrally molded on the stud.

  • Patent number: 5092550
Abstract: A leveler for adjustably selecting and thereafter maintaining a selected spacing interval between two parts comprises a base adapted to be fixedly mounted on a first part and including a threaded element therein. An elongated threaded support post is mounted in adjustable threaded engagement with the base and is selectively adjustable to extend outwardly thereof. A bumper formed of resilient material is secured to an outer end of the support post and includes a bearing surface for supporting engagement with a second part to be spaced from the first part. The base includes a lock for frictionally engaging the threaded support post for preventing unwanted rotation once the desired spacing interval is manually selected.

  • Patent number: 4693654
Abstract: A self-drilling, self-tapping screw has a drill tip formed by a pair of conical segments. Each segment has a flat side and a rounded tip with one segment being longitudinally offset with respect to the other. The shorter, offset segment may have a greater included angle. At least a portion of the flat side of the second segment is coplanar with the flatside of the first segment. The screw preferably includes a quad-lead thread having two crests with a first diameter and two crests with a second larger diameter.

  • Patent number: 4460300
Abstract: This invention relates to a screw type fastener having a radially enlarged driving head and a thin walled head conforming cap having a skirt which is designed to be folded inwardly beneath the head in a lapped condition beneath the head to conceal the exposed edge of the skirt between an exposed clamping surface of the cap and the under surface of the head of the fastener.

  • Patent number: 4373842
Abstract: A plastic-headed fastener assembly has a first outer and a second inner sealing flange. The second flange performs the secondary function of engaging the upper panel of two a member assembly which tends to climb the threads and holding it away from the head. The threads on the fastener can then strip out the hole in this upper panel so that it may return to its position adjacent the second member. This flange prevents damage to the plastic head which can result from friction generated heat.
