Abstract: A process wherein solid particles are coated with either liquids or solids while the particles are moving as a uniform layer over the surface of a rotating body and subsequently discharged from the surface by centrifugal force. Two forms of coating apparatus designed to coat prills are shown, the preferred apparatus having a flexible conical disc carrying a layer of existing material which touches the rim of the rotating body from which the solid is discharged.

Abstract: A means for adjusting the heights of animal waterers in a multi-cage livestock confinement system includes an elongated water pipe rotatably mounted along an elongated partition which closes one side of a plurality of longitudinally positioned livestock cages. The water pipe is connected to a source of water under pressure and a watering valve in each cage is attached to the water pipe so that the elevations of the watering valves are adjusted in response to rotation of the water pipe about its longitudinal axis. A lever may be extended from the water pipe at the same attitude as the watering valves for rotating the watering pipe and indicating the elevation of the watering valves.

Abstract: A ventilating system for a livestock building includes a substantially enclosed building structure having a ceiling with an attic compartment above it and a livestock compartment below it. An elongated air conduit extends through the building structure substantially parallel to the ceiling and has at least one elongated slot extending substantially the length thereof. A fan or the like circulates air in the livestock compartment through the conduit and outwardly through the slot with a baffle adjacent the slot directing the air exiting therefrom upwardly towards the ceiling. An elongated opening in the ceiling in close proximity and parallel to the conduit is provided for bringing a source of fresh air into the livestock compartment and an air deflector is provided for mixing the fresh air with the circulated air passing through the slot.
