  • Patent number: 8204140
Abstract: The present invention provides for making code rate adjustments and modulation type adjustments in a pseudonoise (PN) encoded CDMA system. Coding rate adjustments may be made by changing the number of information bits per symbol, or Forward Error Code (FEC) coding rate. A forward error correction (FEC) block size is maintained at a constant amount. Therefore, as the number of information bits per symbol are increased, an integer multiple of bits per epoch is always maintained. The scheme permits for a greater flexibility and selection of effective data rates providing information bit rates ranging from, for example, approximately 50 kilobits per second to over 5 mega bits per second (Mbps) in one preferred embodiment.

  • Publication number: 20120145540
Abstract: An electrolytic cell for the generation of a plasma field in an electrolyte that heats the electrolyte forms part of a closed-loop heat transfer device, the electrolytic cell fluidly connected to a heat exchanger. A plasma electrode and a second electrode are mounted on a tubular insulating member that forms part of the flow path of electrolyte from the tank to the heat exchanger. The electrolyte must flow through the electrodes when flowing from the tank to the heat exchanger.

  • Publication number: 20020157964
Abstract: A method and apparatus for cleaning conductive bodies using an electrolytic cleaning solution. An inverter power source is used to supply a high voltage, low current output for the electrolytic cleaning. The outside surfaces of a metallic body are cleaned by spraying the cleaning solution on to the body and passing a current through the cleaning solution on the conductive body, thereby causing the cleaning solution to electrolytically clean the body. The body is connected to the negative terminal of the power supply. The positive terminal of the power supply is connected to a spray nozzle and causes a current to pass through the spray to the cleaning solution on the body for the electroytic cleaning. Alternatively, a current can be induced in the cleaning solution on the body by placing a grid near the body and connecting the grid to the positive terminal, thereby generating an electric field.

  • Publication number: 20020009062
Abstract: Codes are applied to signals to reduce the number of transceivers and associated RF cabling extending from base electronics to antenna array electronics in a base station providing beam forming. The transceivers can be reduced to as few as one, and the RF cabling can be reduced to none. The codes may be orthogonal codes, such as Walsh codes. The codes are applied: to weights used to produce the beam forming, signal being transmitted or received, or both. The codes are applied a second time to decompose the coded weights/signal to associate the weights and signal with the beam forming. The coded weights/signal can be summed, including with other coded weights/signals, to produce a composite code division multiplexed signal for transmission between transceiver(s) and antenna array electronics over a single RF or non-RF cable spanning between the base electronics and array electronics.

  • Patent number: 6264823
Abstract: A method and apparatus for cleaning conductive and non-conductive bodies using a basic aqueous disodium phosphate and sodium bicarbonate cleaning solution. The outside surfaces of a metallic or non-metallic body are cleaned by spraying or brushing the cleaning solution on to body, or by placing the metallic body in electrical contact with the cleaning solution, an anode and a cathode (either of which may be the body itself) and flowing DC current from the anode to the cathode and thus through the chemical solution, thereby causing the cleaning solution to electrolytically clean the body. The DC current is provided by an inverter power source. The body may be immersed in the electrolytic cleaning solution or the electrolytic cleaning solution may be sprayed onto the body.

  • Patent number: 4412798
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting the retention of non-ejected parts in the cavity of a plastic molding machine and inhibiting the operation of the molding machine in response thereto. The apparatus employs a set of photocells coupled via associated fiber optic cables to a comparator. The retention of a molded part subsequent to the completion of a molding cycle is indicated by the interruption of a light beam generated by at least one of the photocells. The optical signal is processed by the comparator and associated circuitry so as to activate a mold inhibiting relay.

  • Patent number: 4069882
Abstract: A snowmobile drive assembly includes an engine mounted on a frame by vibration isolation mounts and having an output shaft connected, by means of a flexible coupling, to a first shaft which is rotatably supported on the frame by a first pair of axially spaced bearings. A variable speed primary clutch is mounted on the first shaft between the first pair of bearings and is connected, via a drive belt, to a variable speed secondary clutch mounted on a second shaft disposed parallel to the first shaft and rotatably mounted on the frame by a second pair of bearings.
