  • Patent number: 5296648
Abstract: The inventive cable comprises a plurality of axially-spaced flexible metal conductors which are each disposed within a layer of insulation and a jacket. A solid webbing interconnects the jackets, and, preferably, is integral with the jackets. The webbing has a thickness that is substantially less than the minor dimension of the cable, and the webbing and conductors preferably lie in a common plane. A polarity wing is provided that extends a predetermined distance from the jacket of one of the end conductors, and is preferably integral with the jacket. The polarity wing preferably has a thickness that is substantially less than the minor dimension of the cable. The polarity wing and webbing extend diametrically opposite of the end conductor so that the polarity wing lies in the same plane as the conductors and webbing. The polarity wing provides a key-like effect to ensure that the cable is properly meshed with the connector.

  • Patent number: 4566693
Abstract: A gravity traction apparatus including an adjustable and collapsible A-frame with a transversely extending beam member at the top. Pivotally mounted on the beam member is a generally flat thigh-pad structure which has a T-shaped knee-stop member extending upwardly and rearwardly from adjacent the rear portion thereof.Stop means are provided to limit the pivotal movement of the thigh-pad structure between an inoperative position in which it is in a generally vertical position and a user is in a standing position at the rear of the frame, and an operative position in which it is generally horizontal and the user is supported thereon and hanging over the beam member with his head in a downward position.

  • Patent number: 4468560
Abstract: Electron microscope imparted with measuring functions comprises an electron microscope system for forming an electron-microscopic image, a fluorescent screen for displaying the electron-microscopic image, and an optical microscope for observing the electron-microscopic image on the fluorescent screen. A pattern which provides convenience for measurements of the electron-microscopic image is imaged on an object plane of an eyepiece of the optical microscope.

  • Patent number: 4212297
Abstract: In a micro-fluid exchange apparatus for exchanging fluid with an organ, such as the trachea or a blood vessel of a small animal, such as a rat or a mouse, a hollow needle, such as a syringe needle, is provided for penetrating the fluid conduit of the animal. The syringe needle is coupled to a plenum chamber having an inlet and outlet port. The plenum chamber is coupled to the syringe needle via the intermediary of a standard quick disconnect coupling fitting. The plenum chamber is carried at the end of a drive rod which is coupled to a micrometer drive head. The micrometer drive head is slidably and pivotably coupled to a pedestal for adjusting the height and angle of inclination of the needle relative to a reference base support. The needle is positioned adjacent to the incised trachea or a blood vessel of a small animal and the micrometer drive head is operated for penetrating the fluid conduit of the animal.
