    Abstract: A process for recovering hydrocarbons from a subterranean, hydrocarbon-bearing formation comprising: (a) introducing microbes into the formation, the microbes being effective to render at least a portion of the hydrocarbons in the formation more easily recoverable; (b) passing electrical energy through at least a portion of the formation to increase the mobility of the microbes in the formation; and (c) recovering hydrocarbons from the formation.
