  • Patent number: 10455293
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to provide messages to consumer electronics devices are disclosed. An example method includes determining an identifier associated with a consumer electronics device from which a request has been received. The method also includes querying a database to determine first and second account identifiers associated with the identifier of the consumer electronics device. When the request is for messaging information stored with a first message provider, a first command is sent to cause the first message provider to forward the messaging information. When the request is for messaging information stored with a second message provider, a second command is sent to cause the second message provider to forward the messaging information. The messaging information received from at least one of the first message provider and the second message provider is sent to the consumer electronics device.

  • Patent number: 9672826
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for communicating information about transcription progress from a unified messaging (UM) server to a UM client. In one embodiment, the transcription progress describes speech to text transcription of speech messages such as voicemail. The UM server authenticates and establishes a session with a UM client, then receives a get message list request from a UM client as of a first time, responds to the get message list request with a view of a state of messages and available transcriptions for transcribable messages in a list of messages associated with the get message list call at the first time, and, at a second time subsequent to the first time, transmits to the UM client a notification that provides an indication of progress for at least one transcription not yet complete in the list of messages. The messages can include video.

  • Patent number: 9578386
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to provide messages to consumer electronics devices are disclosed. In response to a request from a consumer electronics device for messaging information stored with at least one of a first message provider or a second message provider, determining, with a processor of a mediation system, an identifier associated with the consumer electronics device. Querying, with the processor, a database at the mediation system to determine first and second account identifiers associated with the identifier of the consumer electronics device. When the request is for the messaging information stored with the first message provider, sending, with the processor, a first command to cause the first message provider to forward the messaging information associated with the first message account identifier to the mediation system.

  • Patent number: 7461381
Abstract: A communications services network platform has a multi-layered software architecture residing on a host computer. The network platform connects to a communications network and includes a call processing stack, a link layer, and a service support subsystem. The call processing stack implements call processing by processing events associated with a communication path through the communications network and has an application layer, representing each active call being processed by the call processing stack, and a resource layer, including software abstractions of physical resources located outside the host computer. The link layer manages a communications link between physically connected physical resources and the call processing stack. The service support subsystem executes services requested by the call processing stack. The platform manages and controls communications events associated with the communication path to complete a request for services between nodes on the communication network.

  • Patent number: 6724875
Abstract: A flexible network platform and call processing system are disclosed. The call processing system includes a particular call processing architecture and a resource managing system which allow new services to be implemented rapidly. An OAM&P subsystem and systems for performing data provisioning and service creation are each provided for use with the disclosed call processing system. The call processing system may include a call processing mechanism for performing call processing in accordance with defined service logic, and call processing resources connected to the call processing mechanism. The call processing resources are designed so that any service logic unit may be linked to any particular event that might occur in connection with the call processing system. A resource managing system is also disclosed for assigning resources for use by a call processing system. A resource is assigned in response to a request made by the call processing system specified capability.
