  • Patent number: 6388446
Abstract: An engine ignition timing tool is provided for use with a strobe timing light in setting the timing of Harley-Davidson motorcycle engines The timing display tool includes a modified circuit breaker cam bolt having a pointer indicator attachable to a cam assembly of the engine, and an ignition timing measuring plate attachable to a gear cover of the engine. The timing display tool is installed on the side of the engine having the ignition unit where the ignition timing is to be set. The engine is run and the strobe timing light is set to the engine spark firing frequency then shone onto the pointer indicator and measuring plate so that the pointer indicator is illuminated at a timing mark corresponding to the degree of spark advance or retard of the engine. The ignition timing is then adjusted.

  • Patent number: 5608151
Abstract: Anti-microbial proteins isolated from sugar beet, wherein the anti-microbial proteins exclude chitinases and glucanases. Said proteins include a pure protein selected from those depicted in SEQ ID Nos 2, 5 and 8, or a functionally equivalent analogue thereof in which one or more amino acids have been added, substituted or removed without substantially reducing the protein's anti-microbial activity, or mixtures of such proteins or analogues. A synergistic anti-fungal effect is observed if at least one of the AX proteins is combined with a WIN protein. The invention also provides recombinant DNA comprising a sequence encoding a protein according to the invention, a vector comprising said DNA and transformed plants comprising said DNA. The invention further provides an anti-microbial composition containing one or more of the said proteins, and a process for combatting fungi or bacteria which comprises exposing them to said proteins or compositions.

  • Patent number: 4809485
Abstract: In packing machines of the type which manufacture packing containers from flexible, tubular material, the contents are fed via a filling pipe opens into the tube. The level of contents in the tube is controlled by means of a float which is connected mechanically to a valve located at the mouth of the filling pipe. On filling of highly viscous types of contents, an arrangement for the control of the flow of contents is used instead, in accordance with the invention, which comprises a sealing device surrounding the filling pipe which on the one hand prevents the contents from penetrating upwards into the tube, and which on the other hand is used for controlling the feed of contents in that its vertical position is monitored by means of a monitoring device surrounding the tube and allowed to control a pump for the feed of contents via the filling pipe.
