Patent number: 6266839Abstract: A brush including a moulded handle and a support structure formed of a rigid thermoplastic material, the support structure including first and second keying structures provided on opposite sides thereof, the first keying structure having provided thereon a first cleaning element, the second cleaning elements extending in different directions away from the respective keying structures in substantially the same or parallel planes and wherein the first and second keying structures are elongate, having front and rear ends, the front ends being joined together to form an acute angle therebetween and the handle lies in a line which generally bisects the acute angle. There is also provided a combination brush and dustpan, the brush being constructed as described above, the dustpan including a recess which is dimensioned to allow the handle of the brush to be snap fitted into the recess to hold the brush in position.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 1999Date of Patent: July 31, 2001Assignee: E. Patent number: 5010598Abstract: A safety helmet comprises a main body, an overbody spaced from the main body to form an air space between the two, an inner body within the main body, primary air vent apertures extending upwardly and outwardly through the inner and main bodies to the air space, and secondary air vent apertures extending upwardly and outwardly through the overbody, so that both the air within the main body, and within the air space between the main and over bodies, will vent by convection when heated.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 1990Date of Patent: April 30, 1991Assignee: Britax Child-Care Products Pty. Ltd.Inventors: David P. Flynn, John E. Oretti

Patent number: 4909276Abstract: A pressure relief valve and especially such a valve for use in the lid or other part of a cooking vessel. It is a feature of the valve that it automatically opens in response to certain pressure conditions, and requires manual resetting to the closed condition. The valve includes a closure member which is movable between valve open and valve closed positions, and a configuration dependent hold-open member which is operative, in one configuration, to bias the closure member into the open position and to hold it in that position. The hold-open member is annular and has a frusto-conical form in the operative configuration. An actuator is operable to move the closure member from the open position to the closed position, and the hold-open member responds to that movement by adopting a reversed conical configuration. The hold-open member is subjected to stress when moving between the two conical configurations and that stress is at least partially relieved at each of the open and closed positions of the valve.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 1988Date of Patent: March 20, 1990Assignee: Kingsley Nominees Pty. Ltd.Inventors: Peter K. Bayly, John E. Oretti

Patent number: 4805815Abstract: A metering dispenser including a metering chamber having an inlet port and an outlet port, an inlet valve for admitting flowable material to the metering chamber through the inlet port, an outlet valve for allowing discharge of the material. To control operation of the inlet and outlet valves, a valve control member is operatively associated with the inlet and outlet valves and is pivotally movable between two extreme limits of pivotal movement which correspond respectively to fill and discharge conditions of the dispenser. A control biasing spring is associated with the valve control member and biases the valve control member towards the one of the extreme limits of pivotal movement corresponding to the dispenser being in the fill condition. An actuator is operative to move the valve control member against the action of the biasing spring. The valve control may be mechanically operative to control operation of the inlet and outlet valves.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 1986Date of Patent: February 21, 1989Assignee: Peter Bayly Associates Australia Pty. Ltd.Inventors: Peter K. Bayly, John E. Oretti, Michael J. Mote

Patent number: 4728139Abstract: Tongs having a pair of similar-length arms, each of which merge at one, thereby inner end with an integral junction portion, are formed from a material having inherent flexibility. Retaining shoulders at the merger of each arm and the junction portion bear against a fulcrum block nested within the junction portion when the opposite, free end portions of the arms are urged together for gripping an object.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 1986Date of Patent: March 1, 1988Assignee: Peter Fanning & Company Pty. Ltd.Inventor: John E. Oretti

Patent number: 4440326Abstract: A dispenser device is described having a metering chamber provided with inlet and outlet ports. Independently mounted, angularly disposed valves are associated with the ports. An activator comprising a cam wheel driven by an electric motor operates the valves in predetermined sequence through valve control arms respectively associated with each of the valves. The valve control arms are pivotally mounted and co-operate with an extension of the valve stem extending externally of the metering chamber. The electric motor is actuated by a button operating through a lever so as to close a switch. The cam wheel includes a switch cam track which holds the switch closed for a full cycle of the dispenser. Also a deactivating cam track is arranged to displace the lever so that manipulation of the button cannot effect the dispenser operation once the cycle has been initiated.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 1981Date of Patent: April 3, 1984Assignee: Peter Bayly Associates Australia Pty.Inventors: Peter K. Bayly, John E. Oretti

Patent number: 4308978Abstract: A dispenser device for liquids including a metering chamber having a valve controlled inlet port and a valve controlled outlet port. An actuator is connected to the two valves to move them between fill and discharge conditions and is arranged to cause the inlet valve to close before opening the outlet valve during transfer from the fill to the discharge condition. The actuator includes a cylinder movable over a piston fixed to the body of the device and the valves respond to movement of the cylinder between two extreme positions corresponding to the fill and discharge conditions respectively. A biasing system urges the cylinder into the fill position at which the inlet valve is open and the outlet valve is closed, and a time delay arrangement operates to retard movement of the cylinder during part of its travel from the discharge position to the fill position.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 1980Date of Patent: January 5, 1982Assignee: Peter Bayly Associates Australia Pty.
