  • Patent number: 5349923
Abstract: The ventilated cage and rack system is provided having a plurality of shelves. An exhaust plenum is removably affixed to each shelf for providing air to predetermined air positions along each shelf. At least one cage is provided for housing at least one animal therein, the cage is a cage level barrier having a gas impermeable portion having upstanding sidewalls and a filter positioned on the side wall. A removable cage canopy is mounted to each shelf for guiding the cage toward the predetermined air position and containing air escaping from the filter bonnet within a confined area for removal.

  • Patent number: 5097750
Abstract: A waste management disposal system which disposes of both solid and aerosol waste includes a housing divided into a solid waste containment area and a negative pressure plenum for drawing aerosol waste away from the solid waste containment area. A funnel is provided for guiding solid waste into the waste containment area and the negative pressure plenum draws the aerosol waste in a path orthogonal to the funnel. A filter is provided for filtering the aerosol contaminants from the air upon which it is being transported.

  • Patent number: 5048460
Abstract: A modular animal kennel is provided having a first fixed wall, a second fixed wall and a third fixed wall forming three sides of the kennel. A frame is attached to the open side of the kennel. A removable wall is selectively received with the frame to form the fourth wall of the panel. A floor support member is provided on the frame and at least one other wall for supporting a floor therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5042429
Abstract: A ventilated age and rack system having an enclosed ventilated rack and a plurality of barrier cages on the shelves of the rack includes a liquid manifold for transporting a liquid to a plurality of predetermined positions along the shelves. A drinking valve is positioned within the cage to allow an animal to consume liquid supplied by the liquid manifold without leaving the cage. A coupling couples the liquid manifold to the drinking valve so that liquid may flow from the liquid manifold to within the cage when the cage is placed in the rack at the predetermined positions. An air plenum transports positive pressure air to the plurality of predetermined positions. A recessed grommet having holes therein is positioned in the bottom of each cage and allows air to pass from the air plenum to within the cage.

  • Patent number: 4989545
Abstract: The ventilated cage and rack system is provided having a plurality of shelves which act as air plenums for conveying air to a plurality of predetermined air positions within the ventilated rack. At least one cage is provided for housing at least one animal therein, the cage is a cage level barrier having a gas impermeable portion having upstanding sidewalls and a filter bonnet positioned on the sidewall. The plenum shelf removes air disposed at the filter bonnet.
