  • Patent number: 4803986
Abstract: An ergonometric transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator especially designed for dysmenorrhea and low back pain. The ergonometric factors include a housing containing the electrical circuit, the housing being of a generally flattened disk shape with well rounded edges. A first power switch is located on a side edge of the housing, and one or more rocker switches controlling the amplitude of the current stimulation pulses to be supplied by one or more channels from the stimulator are mounted on a side edge of the housing. The housing of the stimulator has one or more attachment points on the side edge of the housing to allow for connection of the housing to a body or garment strap.

  • Patent number: 4392860
Abstract: A device for removing fluids from a wound. The device includes a housing having therein an expandable and collapsible passive member which divides the interior of the housing into a first and a second chamber. A vacuum is applied to the second chamber to draw the passive member so as to increase the volume of the first chamber and create a negative pressure therein. Conventional wound tubing connected to the first chamber permits fluids to be drawn from the wound into the first chamber. In one exemplary embodiment a bellows is placed in communication with the second chamber.

  • Patent number: 4278089
Abstract: A device for removing fluids from a wound includes a housing and a passive bellows inside the housing. The bellows can be collapsed and retained in a collapsed or activated state. Upon release from its activated state, the bellows is expanded so as to provide a substantially constant level of negative pressure whereupon fluids from a wound are automatically drawn into and collected within the bellows at a substantially constant rate of suction throughout the range of evacuation. Preferably the bellows is expanded by a constant force ribbon spring which provides a constant force of expansion. Additionally, the housing is preferably transparent with graduations etched thereon permitting the visible inspection and measurement of the fluids removed from the wound.

  • Patent number: 4165709
Abstract: A tablet dispensing device comprises a substantially flat support having a single tablet dispensing aperture therein. A tray is adapted to rotate on one surface of the support and has a plurality of openings therein disposed in a circular orientation. The openings are arranged to individually align in registration with the aperture upon rotation of the tray. The tray is adapted to receive a tablet dispensing package containing a plurality of tablets. A tablet is dispensed by pressing it from the package through its corresponding opening in the tray and then through the aperture in the support for collection by the operator thereof. Rotation of the tray sequentially places each opening over the aperture in alignment therewith so that the remaining tablets can be individually dispensed.
