  • Patent number: 11981254
Abstract: A system prevents activation of strobe lights on a vehicle in response to events calculated to indicate a nuisance activation. Directional strobing may be activated based on input from vehicles systems.

  • Patent number: 6928890
Abstract: A method and apparatus for mixing a first stream of gas with a second stream of gas is provided. The method includes introducing a first stream of gas into a first stream manifold and directing the first stream from the first stream manifold into a mixing chamber via a plurality of first stream passages flow coupled to the mixing chamber. A second stream of gas is directed into the mixing chamber via at least one second stream passage flow coupled to a first end of the mixing chamber. A combined stream is formed from the first and second streams, gradually converged, and discharged from the mixing chamber through a mixing chamber exit port.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 7, 2003
Date of Patent: August 16, 2005
    Assignee: Caterpillar Inc
Inventors: Gerrick S. Gehner, Russel R. Graze, Jr., Kartik G. Iyer, Korby A. Koch, Hemant P. Mallampalli, John E. Wagner

  • Patent number: 5807686
Abstract: A cell population which is composed of cells bearing the stem cell marker CD34 and which are small in size and have little granulation are obtained by separating low density mononuclear hematopoietic cells according to size and then selecting for CD34.sup.+ cells in the smallest size fraction. The size of the cell population corresponds to that obtained at a flow rate of 25-29 ml/min in a counterflow elutriation method using a rotor equivalent to Beckman JE 5.0 spun at 900.times.g. This population of cells consists essentially of very early progenitor cells and the cells are useful in autologous bone marrow transplantation as well as gene therapy.
