Publication number: 20230417062Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a clip system and methods for using same for the attachment of finish panels to modular walls. The clip system includes a lower portion for attachment to the modular wall, an upper portion with a receptacle for attaching the panel, and a middle portion connecting the upper and lower portions. The middle portion further allows movement between portions so that the clip system can be expanded in two axial directions for precise panel placement. Further panels can be adjusted about the upper portion in a third axial direction. Thus, the clip system facilitates panel positioning and attachment in an exact, three-dimensional location on the modular wall.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 26, 2023Publication date: December 28, 2023Inventors: Chris GIATTINA, John EASTON

Patent number: 9743767Abstract: Tool-free, quick-install rail-kits for installing equipment in rack systems. A telescoping rail body has an inner panel slidably fastened to an outer panel. A self-latching mechanism is disposed at opposite ends of the inner and outer panels. Each self-latching mechanism comprises a latching clip and a locking lever. The latching clip has a catch surface, and is pivotally fastened to the panel body and biased by a biasing member in a latched position. The latching clip is configured to pass through an aperture of a rack post and engage an outer surface of the post with the catch surface. The locking lever is positioned on an inward facing surface of each panel and configured to open inwardly to unlock the latching clip allowing the latching clip to pivot, and to close flush with the inward facing surface to lock the latching clip in the latched position.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 2016Date of Patent: August 29, 2017Assignee: Seagate Technology LLCInventor: Michael John Easton

Publication number: 20170057872Abstract: Disclosed are masonry product feedstock compositions having natural aluminosilicate minerals, e.g., clay minerals and feldspars, to activate a geopolymer reaction. During the formation and curing of a masonry product, an alkali activator creates structural bonds within a mix of aggregates in the feedstock having a low moisture content (e.g., 5-10% by weight). The feedstock and manufacturing can require less energy, and can result in a lower environmental footprint than conventional masonry products. Associated processes and systems provide improved mixing and/or de-agglomeration of the feedstock, high compression during the formation of masonry products, and optimized curing. Exemplary products can include structural masonry units, veneer facing blocks, pavers, and other pre-cast products.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2016Publication date: March 2, 2017Inventors: David Carr Easton, Jose F. Muñoz, S. Taj Easton, Khyber John Easton

Patent number: 8625454Abstract: A method for improved distribution of data in a computing environment includes receiving data for distribution in the computing environment and receiving configuration data of the computing environment. The method also includes parsing the data for distribution using the configuration data into header information of a packet. The header information includes data offsets identifying a common data portion within the date for distribution, the common data portion being available to all nodes of the computing environment and identifying a first node of the computing environment and a particular-node data portion within the data for distribution, the particular-node data portion being available only to the first node of the computing environment. The method also includes broadcasting the header information of a packet to all nodes of the computing environment and broadcasting the data for distribution to all nodes of the computing environment in response to broadcasting the header information.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2012Date of Patent: January 7, 2014Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Richard Appleby, John Easton

Publication number: 20130009802Abstract: Described herein is a sighting mechanism that includes a system (10) for modifying an optical sight which does not suffer from disadvantages associated with poor visibility. The system (10) includes a source of continuous wave (CW) radiation (16) that provides CW radiation to an antenna (22) for illuminating a field of view. The antenna (22) also collects reflections from objects within the field of view for processing. If only moving objects within the field of view are of interest, reflections from stationary objects that are at the same frequency as the illuminating radiation can be discarded. For moving objects, the reflections are modulated in accordance with the movement of the object and have a frequency that is proportional to their radial velocity. The modulated reflections can be interpreted rather well by the human brain and can be relayed directly to the user through ear phones or other similar devices.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2011Publication date: January 10, 2013Applicant: BAE SYSTEMS PLCInventor: Nicholas John Easton

Publication number: 20110129220Abstract: An optical routing network provides function-specific routing, in the optical domain, of radio frequency (RF) signals between inputs to the network and function-specific outputs from the network. RF signals input to the network may comprise signals received by elements of a multi-function array antenna for routing to function-specific receiving equipment or signals from function-specific transmitting equipment for routing to selected elements of the antenna for transmission. The optical routing path through the optical routing network is chosen by selecting one or more predetermined optical carrier wavelengths in the optical routing network, each carrier wavelength being associated with a particular function of the antenna.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 17, 2009Publication date: June 2, 2011Applicant: BAE SYSTEMS plcInventors: Mohammed Nawaz, Richard Peter Joyce, Nicholas John Easton

Publication number: 20100259620Abstract: The present invention relates to a system for detecting incidents within an area covered by CCTV network. Specifically, the present invention relates to utilising detections of gunshots to autonomously direct CCTV cameras to cover an area in which a gunshot was detected. The present invention provides a method for automatically directing CCTV cameras, wherein said CCTV cameras are each equipped with a microphone and are at known positions, comprising: filtering sounds received at each said microphone to detect a sound of a gunshot at at least three of the said CCTV cameras; triangulating a position of the gunshot from the three or more CCTV cameras known positions; and sending commands to the CCTV cameras around the position of the gunshot to point at the position of the gunshot.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 23, 2008Publication date: October 14, 2010Applicant: BAE SYSTEMS plcInventors: Kevin William Beggs, Christopher Colin Anthony Woolley, Nicholas John Easton

Patent number: 7340682Abstract: An alternate display content controller provides a technique for controlling a video display separately from and in addition to the content displayed on the operating system display surface. Where the display is a computer monitor, the alternate display content controller interacts with the computer utility operating system and hardware drivers to control allocation of display space and create and control one or more parallel graphical user interfaces adjacent the operating system desktop. An alternate display content controller may be incorporated in either hardware or software. As software, an alternate display content controller may be an application running on the computer operating system, or may include an operating system kernel of varying complexity ranging from dependent on the utility operating system for hardware system services to a parallel system independent of the utility operating system and capable of supporting dedicated applications.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2003Date of Patent: March 4, 2008Assignee: xSides CorporationInventors: D.
