  • Publication number: 20230167874
Abstract: A head unit system for controlling an object includes a secondary object sensor and a head unit device that include shear thickening fluid (STF) and a chamber configured to contain the STF. The chamber further includes a front channel and a back channel. The head unit device further includes a piston housed at least partially radially within the piston compartment and separating the back channel and the front channel. The piston includes a first piston bypass and a second piston bypasses to control flow of the STF between opposite sides of the piston. The chamber further includes a set of fluid flow sensors and a set of fluid manipulation emitters to control the flow of the STF to cause selection of one of a variety of shear rates for the STF within the chamber to control motion of the object with regards to a secondary object.

  • Patent number: 11665139
Abstract: Techniques for distributed offload leveraging different offload devices are disclosed. In some embodiments, a system, process, and/or computer program product for distributed offload leveraging different offload devices includes receiving a flow at a firewall of a security service (e.g., a cloud-based security service); inspecting the flow at the firewall to determine meta information associated with the flow; and offloading the flow to an offload entity (e.g., a SmartNIC, software executed on a Network Interface Card (NIC), and/or a network device, such as a network router and/or network switch) based on the meta information associated with the flow (e.g., an application identification associated with the flow determined using deep packet inspection) and based on a policy.

  • Publication number: 20230159139
Abstract: A foamable composition for injecting in a region of a ship, for example to prevent and/or reduce water ingress and/or progressive flooding in the ship so as to improve damage stability of the ship, is foamable to form a foam and is dissolvable in a removal composition. The provision of a foam, which can be dissolved by application of a removal composition, e.g., a solvent, may improve ease of removal of the foam, and therefore may reduce the cost and/or speed of reinstatement of the ship. The present invention also relates to a method of improving damage stability of a ship, the method comprising identifying one or more regions of the ship where injection of a material may lead to increase in ship stability, the material being impermeable to water and/or being capable of preventing migration of water.

  • Publication number: 20230133797
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a transmitting device may perform a pre-distortion of a signal on a resource allocation for the signal and using discrete Fourier transform (DFT)-domain processing. For example, the transmitting device may perform a first frequency-domain (FD) to time-domain (TD) transform, which may be an example of an inverse DFT (IDFT), on a first set of FD symbols to obtain a first set of TD samples. A size of the first FD to TD transform may be based on the resource allocation for the signal. The transmitting device may perform a crest factor reduction (CFR) function on the first set of TD samples to pre-distort the signal in the TD (e.g., in the IDFT domain), which may enable the transmitting device to avoid out-of-band (OOB) emission or otherwise have greater control over where the pre-distortion contributes energy.

  • Publication number: 20230135615
Abstract: A network device is configured to route an ingress packet based on its L2 header. In some configurations the ingress packet is routed based only on the destination MAC (DMAC) address in the L2 header, which allows the network device to begin routing as soon as the DMAC is received. The DMAC can be used in a table look up operation to identify routing actions for a nexthop. An egress packet is produced from the ingress packet using the routing actions. The egress packet is then sent on an egress port specified in the routing actions.

  • Patent number: 11636214
Abstract: A technique includes an operating system agent of a computer system monitoring a process to detect whether an integrity of the process has been compromised. The monitoring includes the operating system agent scanning a data structure. The process executes in a user space, and the data structure is part of an operating system kernel space. The technique includes a hardware controller of the computer system listening for a heartbeat that is generated by the operating system agent. The hardware controller takes a corrective action in response to at least one of the hardware controller detecting an interruption of the heartbeat, or the operating system agent communicating to the hardware controller a security alert for the process.

  • Patent number: 11629001
Abstract: A wrapper and three-dimensional package for toasted and other hot food items that includes a sheet with an array of perforations extending through the sheet material between an inner face of the sheet material adapted to contact the food item, and an opposite, outer face of the sheet material. Spicules are formed from the sheet material surrounding each of the perforations and extending away from the inner face of the sheet material. The spicules form standoffs defining an air gap between the food item and the sheet material when the food item is contained in the wrapper, with the spicules engaging an outer surface of the food item to enable lateral migration of steam from the food item, along the air gap and through the perforations.

  • Patent number: 11622361
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure provide for enabling at least one opportunity to transmit mission critical (MiCr) data and at least one opportunity to receive MiCr data in a time division duplex (TDD) subframe during a single transmission time interval (TTI). The single TTI may be no greater than 500 microseconds. The TDD subframe may be a downlink (DL)-centric TDD subframe or an uplink (UL)-centric TDD subframe. How much of the TDD subframe is configured for the at least one opportunity to transmit the MiCr data and how much of the TDD subframe is configured for the at least one opportunity to receive the MiCr data may be adjusted based on one or more characteristics of the MiCr data. The MiCr data may have a low latency requirement, a high priority requirement, and/or a high reliability requirement. Various other aspects are provided throughout the present disclosure.
