  • Patent number: 11961083
Abstract: Item images and item information for an item identified as being associated with a potential theft during a transaction at a transaction terminal are sent in real time to an alert controller of a management terminal. The item images and item information with transaction details are presented on a display for resolution by a clerk operating the management terminal. A timer is also set and a confidence score calculated representing a confidence level that the item is the subject of theft. When the timer expires and there is still no resolution provided by the clerk a decision is made as to whether to interrupt the transaction processing on the transaction terminal for assistance or whether to permit the transaction to complete on the transaction terminal based on the calculated confidence score.

  • Patent number: 11339927
Abstract: A presence or an absence of an occupant is detected, and an occupancy sensor signal is generated representative of an active state in which the presence of the occupant is detected, and an inactive state in which the absence of the occupant is detected. An ambient light sensor detects the ambient light level and generates an ambient light sensor signal representative of the ambient light level. Dimmable illumination is generated at a first dimming level, based on the ambient light level, corresponding to the active state and a second dimming level corresponding to the inactive state. A transition delay time between an onset of the inactive state and a transition between the first dimming level and the second dimming level may be controlled. The first dimming level, the second dimming level, and/or the transition delay time may be variably set or controlled locally or via a remote device.

  • Patent number: 10803186
Abstract: A computerized method is provided for automatically authorizing an access request from a user to perform a task with respect to a computing application of an application lifecycle management (ALM) system. The computerized method includes receiving, by a computing device, the access request from the user to perform the task with respect to the application in the ALM system and calculating, by the computing device, a risk score associated with the access request. Calculating the risk score includes determining a plurality of factors including: (i) at least one factor associated with the application indicative of an importance level of the application and (ii) at least one factor characterizing technical experience of the user, and computing the risk score as a weighted sum of the plurality of factors. The method further includes determining, by the computing device, whether to authorize the user access request based on the risk score.

  • Patent number: 9811272
Abstract: A system and method for data replication is provided. A host synchronously replicates data between a first local storage device and a second local storage device, the first local storage device and the second local storage device being coupled to the host. Data is then asynchronously replicated from the first local storage device and the second local storage device to at least one remote storage device. In an embodiment, each of the local storage devices may asynchronously replicate data to remote storage devices located at separate sites to provide four site data replication processing. The system described herein provides for advantageous and efficient swapping of control between hosts and storage devices located in different regions in response to disasters and/or other events affecting data storage in a particular region.

  • Patent number: 9521703
Abstract: In a method of processing data in a communication device operating in a heterogeneous communication network, data is transferred between a first communication interface within the communication device and an upper protocol layer via a first abstraction layer (AL) processing unit. The first AL processing unit is dedicated to the first communication interface. Additionally, data is transferred between the first AL processing unit and a second AL processing unit within the communication device via an interface between the first AL processing unit and the second AL processing unit. The first AL processing unit is dedicated to a second communication interface within the communication device.

  • Patent number: 9450891
Abstract: A device including a first node configured to communicate, over a first connection, with a second node and a third node in a network. The first node includes a first network layer associated with a first communication domain. The first communication domain corresponds to the first connection. A second network layer is associated with the first communication domain and a second communication domain. The first communication domain and the second communication domain are different. The first network layer is configured to receive, from the second node, a data packet to be relayed to the third node, in a first mode, forward the data packet to the third node, and in a second mode, selectively provide the data packet to the second network layer. The second network layer is configured to, in the second mode, forward the data packet to the third node.

  • Patent number: 9352289
Abstract: The present invention has as an objective to provide a new emulsification method, which can produce concentrated water-continuous emulsion containing lipophilic compounds in a dispersed phase, with a very fine dispersed phase droplet size less than a micron, and a narrow size distribution of the dispersed phase. This objective has been met by a method wherein a water-continuous emulsion is made using a Controlled Deformation Dynamic Mixer or a Cavity Transfer Mixer.

  • Publication number: 20160128929
Abstract: The present invention relates to personal care compositions containing non-ionic surfactants and fatty compounds, which have a structured composition to provide rheological properties to these compositions. The compositions can be prepared by applying a Controlled Deformation Dynamic Mixer. By using this mixer, compositions having a relatively high viscosity can be prepared, while the concentration of active compounds is relatively low.

  • Patent number: 9060041
Abstract: A message is received at a communication interface device coupled to a first media type. A second layer (e.g., a dynamic link layer (DLL)) on the communication interface device communicates with an abstraction layer (AL) regarding relaying of the message. The AL determines whether another communication interface device should relay the message via a second media type. When the AL determines that another communication interface device cannot or should not relay the message, the communication interface device relays the message using relaying functionality provided by the second layer (e.g., the DLL). When the AL determines that another communication interface device should relay the message, the AL forwards the message to the other the communication interface device for relaying via the second media type.
