  • Publication number: 20070077443
Abstract: Long chain esters formed by reacting mono, di-, and/or tri-carboxylic acids containing one, two, or three C6-C24 long chain radicals or fatty acid residues, and alcohols containing at least one C3-C24 alkyl group, in a natural or synthetic vulcanizable or cross-linkable elastomer or rubber, when included with an adhesive resin, such as a melamine-containing resin or a phenol-, e.g., resorcinol-containing resin, e.g., a Novolak resin, unexpectedly increases the adhesion of one rubber or elastomer layer to another rubber or elastomer layer, even when the rubber/elastomer layers have substantially different polarities. Application of the adhesion promoters described herein is particularly contemplated for adhering one or more layers of difficulty adhered elastomers, such as fluorinated elastomers, to themselves, or to other elastomer layers that have similar or substantially different polarities.

  • Publication number: 20060050528
Abstract: A real estate sign post having a crossbar on which a modular lighting unit is secured by two theft-resistant screws having non-circular holes in their heads and shielded by upstanding walls on mounting brackets. The lighting unit is enclosed in a box-like housing with a solar panel in the top side, slot-like lamp openings at opposite ends of the bottom side, and elongated arrays of LED's mounted in concave reflectors for directing light toward opposite sides of a real estate sign. Battery packs enclosed in shrink wrap and a controller are enclosed in the housing. An alternative embodiment mounts fluorescent bulbs in reflectors that are supported on opposite sides of a base unit by elongated arms.

  • Publication number: 20030060298
Abstract: A boxing ring configuration, a boxing method and a lay-flat mat are disclosed for keeping fluids from collecting in the pugilist corners during rest periods between rounds. An absorbent, lay-flat mat is positioned under the seat of the pugilist while he is being administered to between rounds. The mat catches any fluids that may deposit, and thus keeps the floor from becoming slippery or stained. The mat can also display a trademark on an obverse surface. The mat is put in place at the end of a round, and removed at the start of the next round so as not to get in the way of the pugilists. A new mat can be used for each round, or the mat can be re-used.

  • Patent number: 5846479
Abstract: Argon injection nozzles are provided in a close-spaced series lengthwise along a treatment trough, in which liquid aluminum is conveyed. The gas is blown in at high Reynolds No, whereby the jets break up into small bubbles. A high average bubble population density is achieved over the whole volume of liquid metal in the treatment trough. De-gassing is achieved in a metal residence time of 15 to 60 seconds, whereby the trough in which treatment takes place can be small.
