Abstract: A pneumatic tire includes a tread, a crown reinforcement radially inward of the tread, a pair of bead cores, a carcass structure radially inward of the crown reinforcement and wound around the bead cores, an innerliner radially inward of the carcass structure, and a barrier layer interposed between the carcass structure and the innerliner. The barrier layer includes two fabric pieces one on each side of a center line of the pneumatic tire. One end of each fabric piece is located near the centerline of the pneumatic tire. The other end of each fabric piece being wrapped around the bead cores and terminating at least at the radial outermost part of the bead cores.

Abstract: The disclosed invention is directed toward an improved airspring bumper (20) and an airspring (10) comprising the improved bumper (20). The bumper (20) is defined by a dual reinforcing structure comprising concentric sets of ribs (50, 58) for absorbing and distributing loads generated from contact between the bumper (20) and an opposing retainer (16). The bumper (20) is secured to one of the airspring retainers (18) by a compression fit between the retainer (18) and the bumper (20) or by a central barbed post (36).

Abstract: An air spring assembly having a flexible member and moveable piston is provided. A bead surface of the flexible member is secured into a channel in the moveable piston to create an air-tight seal which can withstand tensile stress. The hollow piston increases the volume of the air reservoir which contributes to a reduction in the spring rate.
