  • Patent number: 5411487
Abstract: A hypodermic syringe comprises a cylindrical piston barrel, a piston plunger slidable in and extending out one end of the piston barrel, a rubber-like piston attached to one end of the piston plunger, a needle extending from the other end of the piston barrel, and a spring-loaded needle cover in the form of a cover tube slidable over the piston barrel. The cover tube includes a locking mechanism for locking the cover tube in an extended position over the needle or in a retracted position exposing the needle. The locking mechanism comprises an axial slot or keyway provided on the cover tube and having transverse projections at each end, a pin on the piston barrel adjacent to the needle end extending radially outwardly into the slot of the cover tube, and a spring positioned between the distal ends of the piston barrel and the cover tube. In the retracted position of the cover tube, the spring located inside the cover tube is compressed.

  • Patent number: 5195975
Abstract: A hypodermic syringe comprises a barrel, a plunger slidably received in the barrel, a drive shaft slidable in the barrel, and a connector for drivably connecting the drive shaft to the plunger. The connector has a plunger end including a first pair of resilient fingers insertable into the plunger, a drive shaft end having second pair of fingers insertable into the drive shaft, and an intermediate portion intermediate the plunger and drive shaft ends. The first pair of fingers has projections which engage apertures in the plunger. The second pair of fingers engages an annular rib in the drive shaft. When the drive shaft is fully inserted into the barrel to bottom the plunger, the drive shaft slides over the first pair of fingers, causing the fingers to retract and the projections to disengage from the apertures in the plunger. The connector remains engaged with the drive shaft, and separates from the plunger the drive shaft is withdrawn from the barrel, thereby preventing further use of the syringe.

  • Patent number: 4884655
Abstract: A tower-type speaker cabinet assembly for plural speakers of a high fidelity audio system, including a vertically elongated tower cabinet having a pair of front wall segments adjacent the uppermost and lowermost ends of the tower speaker cabinet and an intermediate forwardly opening cavity extending between the upper and lower front wall segments, a pair of vertically spaced large subwoofer speakers in the respective upper and lower front wall segments with associated inner cabinets forming sound boxes therefor, and a swivelled movable center subcabinet spanning the vertical distance between said front wall segments, having a woofer, a mid-bass speaker and a pair of tweeters carried by a front wall portion of the center subcabinet in vertical alignment. The subcabinet has a range of swivel movement horizontally through predetermined angles about a vertical axis located a short distance rearwardly from the front wall of the swivelled subcabinet.

  • Patent number: 4688121
Abstract: An adaptor for playing a magnetic tape cassette in a tape player for 8-track endless tape cartridges, including an adaptor housing whose horizontal width and depth dimensions and peripheral shape adjacent the bottom thereof are substantially the same as that of the endless tape cartridge to fit in the cartridge-receiving cavity of the tape player. The housing is shaped to form an upwardly opening well for receiving the magnetic tape cassette, and has a tape driving capstan for driving the cassette tape, and a capstan drive train for selectively driving the capstan from the tape drive of the cartridge player, including a pivoted power takeoff lever and pulley to couple and decouple with the cartridge tape drive, and a pivoted function control lever having an end portion movable relative to the takeoff lever to position the latter at non-driven and release positions.

  • Patent number: 4331841
Abstract: A speaker assembly for installation in automobiles as in automobile rear decks and like installations in automobiles, including a main speaker section having a speaker basket frame provided with mounting ears for receiving mounting studs to fix the speaker basket frame against the underside of a deck in the automobile. The main speaker section includes a woofer speaker unit and a bridge member supported from the basket frame carrying a tweeter speaker unit. A grille panel of unitary plastic material has a set, usually four, of spaced preformed sockets to receive upper end portions of threaded mounting studs to be screwed by hand pressure, and then with pliers or the like into the holes, after which a flat spring nut is screwed down on each threaded stud, or one-piece shouldered threaded mounting studs may be used without the spring nut.

  • Patent number: 4281224
Abstract: A multirange thin speaker assembly for installation in automobile doors and like constricted space installations in compact automobiles and the like with the front of the assembly facing toward the automobile interior, including a main speaker section having a speaker basket frame provided with mounting ears for receiving front mounting screws to fix the speaker basket frame against an interior wall portion of the automobile door. The main speaker section includes a woofer speaker unit and a bridge member supported from the basket frame carrying a tweeter speaker unit. A front grille panel of unitary plastic material has a pair of transversely spaced arcuate rear snap ring segments forming an interrupted annular ring projecting rearwardly from the panel to interfit in an anchor ring member carried by the basket frame, each having radially outwardly projecting bead formations to snap behind retaining shoulders of the anchor ring to fasten the grille panel to the anchor ring.

  • Patent number: 4173941
Abstract: A response tracer audio equalizer booster amplifier unit having graphic display of frequency response characteristics for variably boosting the power of output signals from an audio frequency signal source to speakers of a stereo sound system or the like, having a cabinet enclosing audio amplifier circuitry for variably boosting the audio signal at plural frequency bands in the audio spectrum, a manually adjustable slide control for each band adjustable along horizontal fore-and-aft paths for varying the signal boosting at the frequency bands, and a graphic display window having markings for the frequency bands and a continuous flexible curve indicator wire variably shaped to simulate a frequency response curve. Motion translating flexible coupling members are moved by the slide to shape the wire to indicate the frequency response curve.
