  • Patent number: 10245654
Abstract: A clutch brake cutter for removing a disk-shaped clutch brake from off an input shaft that couples a truck engine to a transmission includes one or more cutting tools and employs a method of clamping and axially compressing a solid or multilayer clutch brake during the cutting operation. In some examples, the clutch brake cutter first guides a drill bit radially from an outer peripheral edge to an inner peripheral edge of the clutch brake. The resulting hole has a diameter that is less than the disk thickness of the clutch brake. Next, the clutch brake cutter guides a chisel lengthwise through the predrilled hole to split the hole open. The drilling and chiseling operation is repeated at an opposite location on the clutch brake to separate the clutch into at least two pieces that can be readily removed from the input shaft without having to first remove the transmission.

  • Patent number: 6109593
Abstract: A jack adapter has a mounting plate with a base plate and a pair of flanges extending from the base plate. A cushion has a non-absorbent outer cover and a nonabsorbent fill material enclosed within the outer cover. The outer cover has an air release vent. The cover also has a fill opening for removing and filling the cover with material. A closure is coupled to the cover for closing the fill opening.

  • Patent number: 5251875
Abstract: A first embodiment of a lifting device is provided for facilitating installation and removal of a plurality of vehicle parts base and a boom pivotally comprises a castered mounted to the base through a horizontal axis of rotation by a mast. A hydraulic jack mounted to a between the base and the boom effects pivotal movement of the boom between upper and lower positions. A receiver is rotatably mounted on a horizontal axis of rotation to a rear portion of the boom. A tie rod pivotably mounted to and between the mast and the receiver guides the receiver through rotational movement and maintains the same in a horizontal condition as the boom moves between the upper and lower positions. The receiver is adapted to interchangeably mount on a vertical axis of rotation one of a plurality of vehicle part attachments, such as a cradle attachment, a flywheel attachment or a clutch attachment adjustably mounting through vertical and horizontal axes of rotation a starter, a flywheel or a clutch, respectively.
